Summary

The latestMortal Kombat 1update is finally here, addingThe Boysantagonist Homelander as a playable character along with several new character skins and quality-of-life fixes. As the fifth DLC character in the Kombat Pack 1, Homelander joinsInvincible’s Omni-Man and DC Comics’ Peacemaker as guestMortal Kombat 1combatants, in keeping with NetherRealm’s trend of having figures from popular comics, movies, and video games appear in its fighting titles.

Homelander himself was shown off in aMortal Kombat 1gameplay trailer last week, ahead of his early-access release on June 4. There, he demonstrated his arrogant and ruthless personality against opponents like Liu Kang and Kitana, as well as a pair of gruesome Fatalities inspired by the hit live-actionThe Boysseries. WhileAnthony Starr isn’t returning to voice HomelanderinMortal Kombat 1as he did for the twisted “superhero’s” guest appearance inCall of Duty: Warzone, NetherRealm has faithfully recreated the character’s appearance and added in numerous Easter eggs, such as Homelander’s disturbing love of milk.
