However, players faced a lot of issues during the event. Some were not even able to find Mega Rayquaza raids at all, and even if they did, they were so far apart at times that players could barely manage to do one during the entire day. Niantic had earlier announced that it would be holding a makeup event to compensate fans for the issues. However, it seems like some more significant changes are coming as part of the makeup event. As per the new details revealed, it has completely gotten rid of the Elite Raid Gym requirement and could also possibly allow Remote Raid passes.
Pokemon GO Mega Rayquaza Makeup Raid Event Schedule
ThePokemon GOMega Rayquaza Raidevent will be held in three phases, with Mega Rayquaza hatching from Raid Eggs at 11 am, 1 pm, and 6 pm local time on August 3. All Gyms are eligible for the raid, so players who do not have an Elite Raid Gym nearby can also take part in the event. Additionally, it is also stated that the Remote Raid Pass limit has been increased to 20 from Friday, August 2, at 5 pm to Saturday, Jul 17, 2025, at 8 pm. While it is not explicitly stated that the event will be open to remote players, the increase in the Remote Raid Pass limit suggests that the raid will be accessible through it.
