Recently,New Worlddevelopers posted an in-depth blog post on the game website that goes into more detail about what changes are going to be made. The developers state that the main focus for the update will be on weapon swapping, dodge cancels, and attack input windows.
In the post, the company explains that it wants weapon swapping to be a crucial part of players' combat and will make swapping feel more consistent through all different types of attacks. The company is aware of theissueNew Worldfans havethat sometimes they feel as if they switched weapons but end up still attacking with the weapon they have currently equipped. The developers also wish to improve dodge cancel windows and attack input timing since there have been reports of some inconsistencies. These issues are not being able to dodge cancel out of some recoveries or perform heavy attacks out of some ability recoveries.
On top of that, the company will be perfecting all of the changes for the PVP, War, and Territory Control aspects of the game. Along with the lagging issues for these modes, there are also issues ofplayers exploiting game modes inNew Worldthat are affecting player experiences. The company has already put in place some changes but will need more time releasing other crucial fixes that need more testing. The developers stated that these will hopefully be released soon.
The blog post ends by saying that the team wants weapon swaps, dodges, and attack inputs to feel as fluid as possible since it is an integral part of the experience, and will work hard to make this a reality. The team also announced it has plans to balance some of the abilities and make some of the less popular abilities more viable. These changes will be rolling out slowly over the next few releases, but the developers encourage constant feedback from fans.
