Recent rumors have suggested Nvidia’s upcomingRTX 3060 Ti graphics card will provide excellent valueperformance. Now, the first set of benchmarks for the card have been leaked and appear to back this claim up. In addition, widespread rumors now suggest that a launch date for the card is only just around the corner.

The data comes from Twitter user TUM_APISAK and Chinese hardware forum Chiphell, via Videocardz. It shows that theNvidiaRTX 3060 Ti will provide solid value for money compared to the more expensive RTX 30 Series cards, offering roughly 90% of the performance of an RTX 3070 at just 80% of the price. If Nvidia decide to price the card below the expected $399, the value offered will be even greater.

The leaked benchmarks show the RTX 3060 Ti scored 30706 in 3DMark Fire Strike benchmarks, compared to 34200 for the RTX 3070, and 12175 in 3DMark Time Spy, compared to 13740 for the RTX 3070. The results show the card to be slightly faster than the RTX 2080 Super, which was the secondfastest model of the recent generation, after the RTX 2080 Ti. Other results in Geekbench 5 andAshes of the Singularityshow similar comparisons.

With numerous reports stating that the RTX 3060 Ti will release on December 2, it appears that the first new generation card to drop below the $400 barrier has also flown under the radar of many. But with rumors suggesting that retailers have been receiving shipments for quite some time, the upcoming card could actually be the easiest new generation card to find. It will inevitably still sell out within ten minutes, but theodds of finding one appear to be greater than with the scarce RTX 3070. Indeed, some unsubstantiated rumors have suggested that RTX 3070 production was cut back to provide more stock for the RTX 3060 Ti, which uses the same GPU and memory.

While some gamers are hoping that Nvidia will price the RTX 3060 Ti below $399, there is little reason for them to do so. The card will still more than likely sell out at launch and continue doing so until at least January. Especially given that it appears to provide most of the performance of the RTX 3070, at a price point whereAMD is yet to offer a new generation competitor, the RX 5800 at $549being the closest option.

Of course, real world gaming performance can differ from tech benchmarks, and will differ between titles. It is yet to be seen whether performance across other titles live up to the leakedAshes of the Singularitybenchmarks, but if it does, gamers looking forsolid gaming performance at less extravagant priceswill have a great option in the RTX 3060 Ti.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is expected to launch on December 2.
