These players will find themselves enjoying the newest set of client features Jagex is currently rolling out to the player public.
For those unfamiliar,Old School Runescapeis the 2007 version of it’s newer version,Runescape 3. Despite being the older version, many fans have found this version to be even better than the newest, withOld School Runescapesurpassing the newer version in player count. Due to the traction of this older version, Jagex, the developers ofRunescape,has continually updated the older version with additional content such asOld School RunescapeCombat Achievements. Ironically, players have used additionally 3rd party programs to enhance their experience with this older version of the game.

The new client features introduced by Jagex hold a lot in store that players had previously relied on Runelite or third parties for. Among the most popularOld School Runescapecontent creators, agility course hitbox markers are used with almost zero exception, as knowing the exact hitbox for agility courses makes these click intensive grinds much more player-friendly. Also extremely important for somemembership Iron-Man modeplayers, are customizable tile markers. Useful for completing mazes and solving puzzles, these colored tiles are no longer exclusive to third party programs as Jagex is now assisting more hardcore players with using the base client instead.
These additions could not have come soon enough according to the player community. WithOld School Runescapebreaking concurrent player counts, much of the community is looking to take their favorite old game and update it with many modern additions. Jagex is doing exactly that by adding many modern concepts such as a Buff Bar whichOld School Runescapehas never seen the likes of in its gameplay career. Allowing players to see their current buffs such as potions, their poison debuffs, and their ammo counter for arrows, all at a glance has always been something players had to seek in additional programs to run alongside the base game. These quality of life changes are moving from additional software straight into the game thanks to Jagex.
With many ofRunescape’snew players joining the community through Twitch orAmazon PrimeRunescapeMemberships, beginner players have been continually looking to improve their gameplay quality to that ofRunescapecontent creators while still simply using the base client for the game. Fortunately for these players, Jagex is listening to their pleas.
