Summary
From January 12 to January 14,Overwatch 2’s Quick Play game mode will be known as Quick Play: Hacked - Quicker Play. While many hardcore fans of the hero shooter spend their time in the game’s Competitive Play mode, Quick Play is still one of the most popular modes in all ofOverwatch 2. It lets players experienceOverwatch 2’s core game modes, minus the stress of losing one’s rank.
Blizzard has made drastic changestoOverwatch 2Quick Play over the years. Some of these changes have proven popular, while others have been a bit more divisive. Blizzard’s latest Quick Play experiment will see the game mode drastically changed yet again, though this time the changes will be temporary. Blizzard’s goal is to test possible changes that could be implemented inOverwatch 2Quick Play at a later date depending on how the community reacts to them.

Overwatch 2’s Quick Play: Hacked - Quicker Play experiment will completely take over the Quick Play game mode from January 12 to January 14,instead of being featured in Arcadeor as an Experimental Play Card. This way, many moreOverwatch 2players will actually participate. As far as the changes go, respawn times will be 75% of their original times, payloads will move 60% faster, taking objectives in Hybrid and Control will be 40% faster than normal, while scoring progress is 80% faster. Taking objectives in Flashpoint will be 20% faster, with scoring progress 40% faster. Match times for Escort, Hybrid, and Push are being reduced to 70% of their original times, and the same goes for time extensions.
Overwatch 2: Quicker Play Changes
Quick Play: Hacked - Quicker Play will apply to both the open queue and role queue options forOverwatch 2Quick Play while it’s active. Those that want to play regular Quick Play will have to set up anOverwatch 2custom game. This might upset some fans that were planning on playing regularOverwatch 2Quick Play this weekend, but it will definitely be interesting to see how the community reacts to the changes.
Blizzard noted that Quicker Play is just the “first” version of Quick Play: Hacked, so it seems more are on the way. What future versions of these remixedOverwatch 2Quick Play modeswill offer is anyone’s guess, but one has to imagine that they will be adjusted based on how fans react to Quicker Play.
