Ahead of the Season 8 launch on December 5,Overwatch 2game director Aaron Keller released a blog teasingsome of the balance changes coming along with the new patch. Retained Ultimate charge while swapping heroes is being reduced from 25% to 15% to make counter picking a more meaningful decision. For hero balance, Doomfist, Ramattra, and Winston are getting some incredible buffs to increase their staying power and map presence, while Sombra’s ult and Tracer’s Pulse Pistols are both getting slight power boosts. On the other hand, Soldier: 76, Brigitte, and Baptiste are getting a few small nerfs.
Hero Changes Coming in Overwatch 2 Season 8
According to the blog,Roadhog’s changes inOverwatch 2rocketed him up to one of the best-performing tanks in the game right now, with a win rate of around 54%. Keller said they are considering making changes to him, butOverwatch 2wants to see how Mauga and these new tank buffs affect the meta before making any decisions in the mid-season balance patch.
Either way, it seems like Season 8 is going to be huge for Tank players inOverwatch 2. Fans will have to see if these changes will maketanking inOverwatch 2a little easier.
