The game has something for everyone, from kids playing with their families to professional players competing in tournaments. Whether someone is playing just for fun or for money, it is important to know exactly how to win the game and what can cost them dearly. One player has discovered a huge tip for allOverwatchplayers by determining exactly where different capture point boundaries are within the map.
Overwatchis like any video game, where some players are going to spend as much time as they can trying to find tricks and tips. From McCree flashbang tips tosecret places to hide Sombra’s translocator, there are countless small details that some players don’t think about. One of these details is exactly where capture point lines stop and where a player can accidentally step in order to lose a match.

On capture maps, the attackers must get to ta capture point and keep the defenders off the point to successfully capture it. The capture area is displayed as a holographic line of color that outlines the space. However, this line is apparently not always accurate. While most players are busy trying out theirnewOverwatchHalloween Terror event skins, YouTuber KarQ is figuring out which steps in a staircase count as being on the objective.
One main example that KarQ shows is on Hanamura. Point B has staircases on the left and right sides of the capture point, but the right side is a dead space. This means that a player can think they are capturing or contesting the point when it actually isn’t registering them.CompetitiveOverwatchplayers often use boundary tacticslike freezing Mei with her Cryo-Freeze ability to step a frozen toe onto the point.
KarQ discovered that the player is only registered as being within bounds if the bottom center of their hitbox is within the area. Some heroes, such as Tracer and D.Va out of mech, encounter these issues more often than larger characters. Newer maps, such as Horizon Lunar Colony, seem to be much more accurately displayed, leading players to thinkOverwatch 2capture points will be more accurate. The opposite of this is Anubis, where Point A isn’t even straight lines but rather zigzags a few times along one edge.
Whether a player accidentally wall rides too high as Lucio or freezes their Mei in just the wrong spot, these errors can be very frustrating for any player. Hopefully, this video and map guides can help players win matches and finishgetting their Halloween Terror 2020 skins. Only time will tell ifOverwatch 2will end up suffering the same fate.
Overwatchis available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
