Hulu’s Hit comedy-mystery showOnly Murders in the Buildingclosed out its second season with a bang and a murderous reveal this week, and fans are already excited for the third season. That excitement will only be heightened by news of Paul Rudd becoming a more permanant fixture on the show.
Hot on the heels of the season 2 finale and the early renewal of theHulushow for its third season,Varietyreports that Rudd will be joining the cast of the next season. TheAnt-ManandAvengersstar made a surprise cameo in the season 2 finale and it is yet to be revealed whether he will be a series regular or a recurring guest on the show.

Rudd’s addition to the cast is also areunion for him and Selena Gomez, who worked together on the 2016 filmThe Fundamentals of Caring. A start date or release timeframe forOnly Murders in the Buildingseason 3 has yet to be announced.
Since its debut in August 2021,Only Murders in the Buildinghas gathered critical and audience acclaim for its tight mix of comedy and suspense and the performances of the main cast.Steve Martin plays semi-retired actorCharles-Haden Savage, Martin Short is struggling Broadway director Oliver Putnam, and Gomez is Mabel Mora, a tenant in the building with a mysterious background. After a chance meeting, the three bond over their love of true-crime podcasts and become unlikely detectives and podcasters themselves.
Martin co-created the series with Hoffman. Martin, Hoffman, Short, and Gomez executive produce alongside Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, and Jamie Babbit. The series sees comedy legends and long-time acting partners and friends Short and Martin reunite on screen and has garnered many accolades, includingnominations for the Primetime EmmyAward for Outstanding Comedy Series and for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Martin and Short.
While there is no date for the start of production on the third season or a release date, it is likely to debut next summer. Until then fans will have to play detective about Rudd’s role in the series and who will be next to get murdered in the building.
