Summary
As part of their ongoing art series, aPokemonfan redesigned the Rock Pokemon called Nosepass to show what it would look like as a human and shared their work with other trainers. In response, somePokemonfans complimented the artist for their continued efforts in drawing some Pokemon as humans, and for giving Nosepass a new look.
Known as the Compass Pokemon, Nosepass is a Rock-type Pokemon that first appeared inPokemon Ruby and Sapphire. In its debut, Nosepass was the star Pokemon of Rustboro City Gym Leader Roxanne, and the first challenge that fresh trainers in Hoenn can take on. True to its compass-like nature, Nosepass always turns itself to point north, as its red nose functions like an electromagnet. Nosepass' small arms function similarly to compass needles, and the Compass Pokemon can use its magnetic power to draw in iron objects as a makeshift defense. Starting inPokemon Diamond and Pearl, Nosepass can evolve into the Rock and Steel Pokemon called Probopass by leveling up in a magnetic field or using a Thunder Stone.Nosepass and Probopass can be caughtinPokemon Scarlet and Violet, namely in the Kitakami region.
While Nosepass and Probopass can beformidable Rock-types in competitivePokemonbattles, they are obscure Pokemon that have not received much fan art. However, a Reddit user named endifi chose Nosepass as part of their ongoing art series on the r/pokemon subreddit. In their artwork, endifi transformed the Compass Pokemon into a “gijinka” in a wheelchair. Nosepass' arms and short legs were changed to resemble the arms and wheels of a wheelchair, with its back serving as the seat. Nosepass' red nose was altered to a mask worn by a woman sitting in a chair holding a red flower bouquet. The human Nosepass wore a long blue dress with a red top, and a blue hat, and was attended by two small assistants.
Pokemon Fan Artist Draws Nosepass As a Human in a Wheelchair
In line with theirprevious artwork of Azurill and other Pokemon gijinka, endifi called the human Nosepass “A’daina” and gave a backstory about the Compass Pokemon. In short, endifi did not care about Nosepass and only sought it out for Pokedex completion when they playedPokemon Ruby and Sapphire. When they finally found a Nosepass, endifi said it looked like a wheelchair from their perspective, hence the design.
Pokemonfans on the r/pokemon subreddit praised endifi for their work, with one user stating their new desire to add one to their team. AsPokemongijinka art designscontinue to gain traction, only time will tell what endifi and other artists will draw next.
