Over the years, the LEGO toy brand has continued to partner with a lot of pop culture franchises and series to widen their reach within the geek community. This explains why the brand has produced many LEGO video games such asLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, theLEGO Harry Potter, andLEGO Marvelseries. However, it seems thePokemoncommunity is looking to have an official collaboration between the two franchises. One such fan even went so far as to recreate the Kanto region’s iconic Route 1 using common LEGO bricks and pieces.

Though LEGO has produced a lot of official Nintendo andSuper Mariothemed LEGO sets, the toy brand does not seem to have made any official sets for thePokemonfranchise. This may be because official brick-basedPokemontoy sets are already being produced by a competitor brand called Mega Construx. However, this does not seem to deter the fans of both communities, as there are often several posts sharing recreations of favorite pocket creatures andPokemonelements found in online forums.

Continuing theirproject of aPokemoninspired LEGO set, Redditor Buscags1 posted several images of their progress in recreating the Kanto region using LEGO pieces. In the images, the Redditor seems to have already completed Route 1, which players might recall as the first grassy path they need to go through to start their adventure as Pokemon trainers. Route 1 leads to Viridian City, the first town with a Pokemon gym that fans will encounter inPokemon Red,Blue, andYellow. Buscas1’s images look pretty impressive, given how they connected their version of a LEGO Pallet Town to Route 1 and even mirrored tiny details like the curves of the paths and more.

Pokemonfans seemed very impressed by Buscags1’s work, as shown by the compliments that they placed on the Reddit thread. Some have been waiting on the artist’s progress, given that they did share their LEGO version of Pallet Town not too long ago. According to Buscags1, they are currently working onKanto region’s Viridian City, but shared that they will likely take more time to produce the piece due to the size and city details needed.

However, given that a competitor brand is already making officialPokemontoy sets, community members will likely have to settle for fan-madePokemon-inspired sets using LEGO pieces. With the community very open to sharing their work and process, they can easily find ways to recreate their favorite Pokemon and in-game spots on their own.
