Tips for Winning Psychic Cup Battles
The usual tacticsfor winningPokemon GObattles apply, as well as the following:
Rely on Dual Types
Dual-type Pokemon need to be used to their full potential here. Because every Trainer is battling with Psychic-types, the major differences in move pool and type vulnerability come from the Pokemon’s second type.

Psychic Weaknesses
Psychic-type Pokemon areweak to Bug, Ghost, and Dark-type moves. This tells Trainers what moves to use in the Psychic Cup, as all Pokemon enteredwill be at least somewhat vulnerable to these moves. It’s also best practice to be aware of these weaknesses to match up Pokemon effectively.
Psychic moves, on the other hand, will be weak against Steel- and Psychic-type Pokemon.

Psychic Strengths
Psychic-type moves will be strong against Fighting- and Poison-types, so it’s best toavoid bringing Psychic/Fighting-types and Psychic/Poison-typeslike Galarian Slowbro. Of course, there are exceptions.
Best Pokemon for the Psychic Cup
It’s difficult to recommend a specific team for PvP inPokemon GO, as there is so much variety in the Pokemon that players have access to. Instead, here are some options to consider when building the perfect team.

Fighting, Poison
Steel, Psychic, Dark (immune)
The Gnash Teeth Pokemonmade its debut inPokemon GOnot long ago, and this is the perfect cup to test its PvP capabilities. With the Dark-type move Bite, Bruxish can do significant damage with just a Fast Move. As well as this, Psychic Fangs, despite being Psychic-type, has the advantage of lowering the opponent’s defense by one stage.

Ghost, Psychic
Fighting, Dark, Fairy
Malamar is a spammy beast in this cup, able to apply a lot of shield pressure with the super-effective Dark-type move Foul Play. Psycho Cut is an incredibly fast-charging move, so players can get to that Charged Move very quickly. Keep an eye out for its double weakness to Bug-types, though this is unlikely to be a huge problem.

Rock, Ice, Fairy
Steel, Fire, Water, Electric
Those double Dark-type movesare a major plus for using Bronzong in the Psychic Cup. Bronzong’s move slots can be used for moves that aren’t Psychic-type, which is ideal for a cup where every opponent is resistant. As well as the super-effective Dark-type moves, Heavy Slam will do good damage against Galarian Rapidash.

Normal, Rock, Steel, Ice, Dark
Flying, Psychic, Bug, Poison, Fairy
Great news for those that took advantage ofthe recent Mega Medicham raidsis that Medicham is a solid player in the Psychic Cup. Despite being a dual-type Fighting/Psychic Pokemon, Medicham makes quick work of meta favorites Bronzong, Malamar, Bruxish, and Claydol with the same Fighting moves that make it weak against some.

Victini is one ofthe few Legendary Pokemonthat can slip under the 1500CP limit, and the spammy Quick Attack makes quick work of charging up the two Charged Attacks. Psychic-types are weak to neither Fire- nor Psychic-type moves, but V-Create will be super effective against Psychic/Steel-types Bronzong and Metagross, which are doing well in the Psychic Cup.

Rock, Steel, Ghost (immune)
Taking advantage of the super-effective Bug-type nuke Megahorn is a great way to burn through the opponent’s shields if they haven’t already been used up by the type-neutral Normal attack Body Slam. The Fairy-type fast move will also be effective against Malamar, a popular Psychic/Dark-type in the Psychic Cup meta.
