We’ve updated this guide on July 16 to include the rest of the Catching Some Z’s Special Research tasks and rewards.

To celebrate the release of the newPokemon GO Plus Plus device, Niantic is hosting yet anotherPokemon GOevent calledCatching Some Z’s. Taking place from July 15, 10 am local time to July 16, 8 pm local time, trainers all over the world will be able to find Komala as a wild spawn for the first time. Komala resembles a sleeping koala and is known in the Pokedex as the Drowsing Pokemon, making it a perfect fit for the event. It comes from the seventh generation of mainline Pokemon games,Pokemon SunandPokemon Moon.

Another important thing to note about theCatching Some Z’sPokemon GOeventis that trainers can complete Special Research tasks for a chance to encounter aspecial Nightcap-wearing Snorlax. However, not every player will be able to gain access to the special tasks unless they own the Pokemon GO Plus Plus peripheral, whichretails for $54.99.

Catching Some Z’s Special Research Tasks and Rewards - Pokemon GO

In order forPokemon GOtrainers to start the Catching Some Z’s Special Research, they must pair the Pokemon GO Plus Plus device with the mobile game. By syncing the peripheral,Pokemon GOplayers can use it to automatically spin PokeStops and throw Poke Balls at wild spawns without having to look at their smartphone.

It’s worth noting that the Catching Some Z’s research will remain available to claim even after the event ends.
