Reddit user andPokemonfan AngryMink took to the site’sPokemonsubreddit to share their delight at how the camera works in the game post-DLC. The player shared several selfies of their trainer and their Pokemon, with the Pokemon striking neat poses behind the player in every shot. In one shot, the trainer appears to be scratching their Arcanine under its chin, while in another, the player looks like they’re being hugged by their Typhlosion. The player noted that particular photo was hard to get, but with the old system, it likely wouldn’t have been possible at all.

Other players seem to be charmed by the pictures and shared in their excitement at the new features, while others wondered how they were achieved. The Teal MaskDLCallows players to signal their Pokemon when taking out their camera, either to tell them to strike a certain pose or simply to hold still. Previously, Pokemon would often zigzag in and out of the view of the camera, sometimes making it difficult to get a shot of one’s Pokemon at all, let alone neatly posed like AngryMink’s images.

The game has also added a selfie stick in the form of theRoto-Stick, giving players a wider angle to shoot pictures from that can make it easier to get multiple subjects into the same picture. For players who want their whole Pokemon party or even a group of co-op friends in an image together, this new item should be a big help.

While not everything aboutPokemon Scarlet and Violetmay have met players' expectations right off the bat, it seems that Game Freak is taking steps to improve the experience with new features like these. While someIndigo Diskleaksare already emerging on the internet, chances are most players will be keeping busy withThe Teal MaskDLC for some time.
