According to one Pokemon leak recapper,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill update Typhlosion’s model and ensure its flames are continuously out in battle, whenever it is officially added to the game. This comes after previous gens showed a relatively tame Typhlosion in comparison, as its flames would come out for certain attacks but otherwise remain “put away,” for lack of a better term, and it would be a smart change forPokemon Scarlet and Violet. The battle model of Typhlosion as recently asPokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearlrubbed many fans the wrong way, as it feels like a major element of its early-gen design was neutered. On the one hand, lore explains that Typhlosion’s flames are tied to how it attacks and its anger, but on the other hand, many didn’t really enjoy the justification. ComePokemon Legends: Arceus, Hisuian Typhlosion’s flames remained out when in combat, and that’s what it seemsPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill do.RELATED:Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Player Points Out Interesting Detail About DudunsparceAccording to Twitter user PearlEnthusiast, who helped spread leaks ahead of the games' launch from reliable community figures like Kaka, recently shared a video of Typhlosion in battle with its flames out. Typhlosion cannot currently be obtained in the games, not “legally” anyway. PearlEnthusiast explains its textures are being updated to be more realistic, while its flames will remain out in combat encounters. This does mean that when using the picnic feature inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, for example, its flames will be put away, but it is a nice update. Per the video, one could easily critique the look of Typhlosion’s flames, something thatFire starter Fuecoco’s final form in Skeledirgesuffers from too, but many will likely just be happy that it’s back.

Of course, this should be taken with a grain of salt until Game Freak confirms as much, but hopefully, that’s sooner rather than later. Many fans are awaitingPokemon Home transfers to come toPokemon Scarlet and Violet, and that’s not to mention whatever Pokemon are directly added via any upcomingPokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC. There’s plenty of evidence for the latter, from the leaked third legendary and new Paradox forms to the inclusion of the Beast Ball in the game, but fans simply have to wait and see what comes.

Right now, thePokemon Scarlet and VioletDLC has two likely announcement dates: sometime relatively soon, if Nintendo opens up the new year with any Direct presentations. Secondly and equally likely would be for a special Direct on Pokemon Day (February 27). Either way, it does seem to be a matter of when and not if.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare available now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
