Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little while longer to step into the ring withWrestleQuest, as the game has just been delayed on the very day it was set to come out. In a statement to Gematsu, developer Mega Cat Studios revealed that this delay is due to a technical glitch that can cause players to lose their saved progress, and thatWrestleQuestwill instead launch on August 22 as a result. The studio also made light of this slight setback on Twitter by posting a wrestling-related meme.

This isn’t the first time thatWrestleQuest’s release was pushed back, as it was once set to launch in May before being pushed to August due to a new partnership deal causing unforeseen issues. In the meantime, fans have been getting small previews ofWrestleQuestin action thanks to gameplay footage of its frantic turn-based combat and special steel cage match stipulations.

WrestleQuestlooks like a colorful blend of grappling action and retro RPG gameplay, and a striking contrast to this year’s other major wrestling-themed releases likeWWE 2K23andAEW Fight Forever. While this latest delay might come as a disappointment for shared fans of gaming and pro wrestling, they can take comfort in knowing that Mega Cat Studios is devoted to ensuring that the game is as polished as can be before it steps into the area - even if it has to sit in the locker room for a couple more weeks while the team is ironing out its remaining glitches.

WrestleQuestreleases in August 2022, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
