A lengthy grind forWorld of Warcraftmount collectors will soon be made more approachable, as Blizzard announced a change to the drop rate of one of the rarest mounts. The news came as the window for obtaining the mount in question will open within a few days, and manyWorld of Warcraftplayers will have another few chances to get this particular item. With hundreds of mounts inWorld of Warcraft, and new ones added with each major update and expansion, the hunt for obtaining as many as possible is a challenge in and of itself. While some are as easy as reaching a certain level on a character, some require no small degree of luck. Some mounts are so rare due to the limited time window required for catching them, making thosethe rarest mounts to get inWorld of Warcraft.RELATED:World of Warcraft Gives Development Tour of an Iconic Dragonflight SidequestOne of those time-limited mounts, the X-45 Heartbreaker mount, is receiving a significant buff to its drop rate. In a forum post, Blizzard admitted that the pink-tinted rocket has been a thorn in the side of many mount collectors over the years. The rarity of the X-45 Heartbreaker was due to it only having a less than one percent drop rate, and only obtainable during the annual “Love Is In the Air” holiday by taking down the Crown Chemical Company. The holiday ismodeled after the real-world Valentine’s Dayand is one of the main February attractions inWorld of Warcraft.

Blizzard added that players who defeat the event’s boss will receive an increased drop rate on their first clear of the boss per day on characters that are eligible to receive the Heart-Shaped Box. Any subsequent boss fights done that day will have the mount’s drop rate adjusted back to the previous drop chance until the next day. While the minimum level for obtaining the box is unclear, players that have at least one level 70 character will guarantee themselves a daily shot at obtaining the mount. The event is only available for two weeks, starting on Monday, February 6, which will giveWorld of Warcraftplayers a few chances to cross the X-45 Heartbreaker off their mount list. While Blizzard has increased the drop rates of mounts before, as they have done withmounts attainable in Pandaria and Draenor, it remains to be seen if other holiday-themed mounts will follow suit.

The increased mount drop rate is not the only thingWorld of Warcraftplayers will have to look forward to soon. WithPatch 10.0.7 currently on the public test realm, and Patch 10.1 looming on the horizon, only time will tell what lies ahead for Blizzard and its player base.
