NPC AIcan be hit or miss, sometimes glitching out and bugging in frustrating, yet hilarious ways. Normally, these characters are on a coded track, and they engage in the same 3-4 behaviors on a loop in an attempt to give towns and settlements in the game a feeling of being alive and in motion.

Sometimes, these loops intersect in the wrong way or something glitches out, and that is exactly what happened in this gameplay footage posted by Redditor Puksis. The video showsArthur Morganobserving an NPC sitting at a table in a tavern taking a sip out of a glass that either has not loaded into the game properly or was never there to begin with. It is unclear if the character sat down at the wrong table or if the glass was knocked over or some other misstep occurred, but whatever the reason, the NPC, instead of changing the behavior, goes along with the animation of drinking out of the glass that isn’t there.
There are a myriad of reasons for different glitches and bugs like this to occur, and most of them are random and unpredictable. In this case, theRed Dead Redmption 2NPCmay have gotten off his track and ended up in a different location, or the glass that was supposed to be there may have never loaded into the game, or something else was already in the place it was supposed to load in, so it wasn’t able to do so.
