Red Dead Redemption 2is a vast game with plenty of secrets. While taking a break from being a gun-toting cowboy, players can gamble, tame horses, and even search for treasure. Using a treasure map, players can even find an island that houses bars of gold.
The island is in the middle of a lake called O’Creagh’s Run, but players will need the right map to find it. Locating the lake and the treasure inRed Dead Redemption 2is no easy task, and it requires finding a few other maps first. It’s worth the hassle, though, as finding the island can make a player very wealthy quickly.
What Treasure Maps Can Be Found?
Treasure maps make a return fromRed Dead Redemptionin the prequel. The maps are used to find precious treasures by traveling to illustrated landmarks. Some are easier to find than others, but they all offer something for the player’s trouble. The following treasure maps are available inRed Dead Redemption 2:
Finding the island takes a few steps, but it’s worth it. First, players need to find the stranger who possesses the first part of theJack Hall Gang treasure map. The stranger can be found on a hill near Flatneck Station and the map can be purchased for $10. It’s possible to also kill the stranger and rob him of his map. The map directs players to a place called Caliban’s Seat which features a flat-topped mountain. Following the red arrow on the map will eventually lead players to the second part of the map. This time around, the map depicts an area with thin trees and bursting geysers.
The area being depicted is Cotorra Springs, located north of Fort Wallace. Between three geysers, there is an arrangement of stone where players will find $15 along with the final piece of the map. The last piece of the map depicts a lake with a small island at the center—O’Creagh’s Run. The lake is located in Grizzlies East, north of New Hanover, and by swimming over to the island of treasure players can locate two shiny bars of gold.
What to Do With Gold Bars?
