Players eager to discover the new adventures of Fragile and Sam Porter Bridges can show their love forDeath Strandingby displaying these new PlayStation avatars.Hideo Kojima took the stage duringThe Game Awards 2022 showearlier this month to announceDeath Stranding 2, the sequel to his 2019’s dystopian action game. These codes unlock four avatars showing tentacles crawling around inside BB’s former carrying case, just as they appear at the end ofDeath Stranding 2’s teaser trailer. The BB pod avatars are available for any player who claims them, regardless of whether they own the originalDeath Stranding.

To unlock these specialDeath Stranding 2avatars, players can redeem the following codes to the PlayStation Store:

Toredeem these codes on the PlayStation Storein a web browser, players should click on their avatar at the top of the PlayStation Store screen and select “Redeem Codes” from the drop-down menu. This opens a window to enter a product code and will add the avatars to the player’s account.

These cryptic BB Pod avatars raise several questions regarding their role inDeath Stranding 2. The reveal trailer showed BB as a toddler, playing with Lea Seydoux’s Fragile at the beginning of the video. This peaceful moment didn’t last long, as the duo had to escape hooded figures that eventually shot Fragile. What happened to BB remains a mystery, as the trailer then shifts to a massive ship coming out of the water in front of anolder version of Norman Reedus’ Sam Porter Bridges, the protagonist of the originalDeath Stranding.

Hideo Kojima shared that the writing process of this new story was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, as hebegan working onDeath Stranding 2as soon as the first game shipped but had to scrap the original scenario following the virus’ outbreak.Death Stranding 2is now officially coming to the PlayStation 5 and will follow the events of the first game, though Kojima has said it will feel “new” rather than like a regular sequel.
