It is likely that fans of the recentResident Evil 3 Remakehave finished it off, cleaned out the post-game shop, and are laying waste to zombies with a host of neat gadgets by now. If fans are looking for information on what may be coming next for the franchise, though, they might be surprised to hear whatResident Evil 2’s Claire Redfield’s actress had to say on a recent podcast.
Claire Redfield has been a central figure inResident Evillore since the series early days, having appeared inResidentEvil 2,Code Veronica, andRevelations 2as a lead. The remake ofResident Evil 2was very well receivedand was the first to feature Stephanie Panisello in the role of Claire. Now, Panisello’s appearance on aResidentEvilpodcast has added to theResidentEvilrumor mill, teasing an upcoming project.

The podcast brought together a number of actors from across theREuniverse, talking about their time working on the series. When addressing members of theResident Evil 3team, Panisello said, “Resident Evil 3cast, hello. I know I don’t know you guys personally, although I do feel like I’ve worked with one of you, but I think it’s a project that hasn’t come out yet, so I won’t say anything.”
This somewhat vague statement gives fans a lot to speculate on, as this could be a hint that Panisello has worked/is working on somethingResidentEvil-related with one of the cast members, something that could hint atwhat’s in store forResident Evil 8.If not, it could be anything.
A continuation of theResident Evil: Revelationsgame line has popped up in rumors as well, which featured both Jill and Claire as lead characters. Perhaps they could be joining forces for the third game in that offshoot of the franchise. In a recent Reddit AMA, Jill’s motion capture and voice actor Nicole Tompkins answered a question about Jill and Claire teaming up by saying “So up for it. How fun would that be! Stephanie is such a sweetheart!”
With so much information and rumor swirling about with regard toResidentEvil, it’s hard to know what to believe. It seems more concrete that the next game receiving theremake treatment isResident Evil 4, a game that doesn’t feature Claire or any characters fromResident Evil 3at all, so if Panisello talks about working with someone from theRE3team, it may not actually be related.
At this early stage and with no official word from Capcom, all fans can do is speculate on what might be to come infutureREgames. Panisello’s comment from theResident Evilpodcast only adds to this speculation, and only time will tell if this was a hint.
