The upcomingResident Evil 3remake is expected to be mostly faithful to the source material, but it’s still going to have some major changes. Besides the obvious gameplay tweaks and graphics upgrade, it seems thatResident Evil 3is making changes to the story, particularly the game’s ending.
The original version ofResident Evil 3featured multiple endings that players could get, but theResident Evil 3remake will only have one ending. This was confirmed by producer Peter Fabiano, who spoke to OPM UK. This also means that the instances in the originalResident Evil 3where players had to make decisions that would alter the course of the story will be removed in the new game.

TheResident Evil 3remake doing away with multiple endings isn’t the only change that’s being made to the survival-horror classic’s story. Other changes will be looking to expand on the role of certain characters in the game, withBrad Vickershaving a larger role in the new game than he did in the original.
Another character that will be getting an expanded role in theResident Evil 3remake isDario Rosso. In the original version ofResident Evil 3, Rosso is a survivor that Jill Valentine encounters early on. Rosso has just recently witnessed the deaths of his family, including his daughter, and has decided to lock himself in a container instead of facing the undead hordes swarming through Raccoon City. But while we know that Rosso will have an expanded role in the new game, more specific details are unavailable at this time.
Luckily, fans shouldn’t have to wait too long to learn more about theResident Evil 3remake and any other story changes that may be in store. TheResident Evil 3remake is set to launch on April 3, after all, so its release is just a few months away.
While some fans may be concerned about potentialResident Evil 3remake story changes, they’re not necessarily a bad thing. How Capcom executes these changes will be the important thing, and it will be interesting to see how fans react once the game itself is out.
