Despite theResident Evilremakes opting for an over-the-shoulder look, aResident Evil 4player wanted to see what the recently released demo would look like in first person, making it similar toRE7andVillage. While the series is known for being quite terrifying in general, it’s the two new entries that have gone down as thescariestResident Evilgames around. Aside from the more realistic visuals, it was perhaps the switch to a more intimate view that upped the fear factor.
With thedemo for theResident Evil 4remakedropping recently, fans have finally had the chance to dive into this slice of the upcoming horror game to see how Capcom is paying tribute to the original 2005 release. Of course, it’s only a small sample of things to come, but it should give players an idea of what they can expect, which will hopefully marry nostalgia with video game modernity. However, the demo is more than just an opportunity to tease the full title, as modders have been busy tinkering with it as well.

As spotted by DSO Gaming, YouTube user praydog has managed to implement a first-person perspective into theResident Evil 4demo. A couple of videos from their channel show it in action, and it really does give offRE7andRE8vibes. It’s by no means perfect, but it seems to be something the modder is actively working on. Whether it will become available for everybody’s use once it’s finished cannot be said at this stage, but there are undoubtedly many fans out there who would love to be able to play the upcoming remake from this perspective.
Going in the opposite direction, another modder recently decided to seewhat theResident Evil 4demo looks like with fixed camera angles, similar to the good old days of theREseries. Sadly, it looks like this nod to the classic entries in Capcom’s series is only for a bit of a fun, so it’s unlikely that it will become a mod available for download, at least for the time being. No doubt someone will release one for the public at some point.
The originalRE4is considered by many to be thebestResident Evilgame ever. It may have been a precursor to the more action-orientated fifth and sixth installments in the franchise, but it was able to switch up the formula in a way that didn’t distance itself from the classics, while also making an impact on the series and on horror gaming in general.
