That said, Heavy Grenades can be acquired much more reliably than the Hand Grenade if players knowhow to craft them.
How To Craft Heavy Grenades In Resident Evil 4 Remake
Unlike the somewhat more common Hand Grenade, Heavy Grenades can actually be crafted via the Crafting menu. Sadly, players won’t unlock the means of crafting this impressive explosive until they have firstreached Chapter 10, after which they can approach the Merchant in the Grand Hall and purchase theRecipe: Heavy Grenade.

Buying this recipe will set Leon back12,000 Pesetas, which isn’t very much considering how useful it can be in tight situations.
Once the Recipe: Heavy Grenade has been purchased, players can craft Heavy Grenades whenever they like, provided Leon has access to12 Gunpowderand1 Resources (L). Resources (L) can also be purchased from the Merchant, but players hoping to find large amounts of Gunpowder will need to explore the world, break open crates, and loot defeated enemies.
When crafted, the Heavy Grenade will be added toLeon’s Attache Caseand will take uptwo of the available slots.
Where To Find Heavy Grenades In Resident Evil 4 Remake
If players have yet to purchase the Recipe: Heavy Grenade item from the Merchant or are simply struggling to locate the materials needed to craft Heavy Grenades themselves, they can also find these explosives by exploring new areas andbreaking the yellow cratesscattered throughout the world. Finding Heavy Grenades this way can be a pretty unrewarding method, however, as they are quite rare.
A slightly more reliable way to find Heavy Grenades is for the player to break a large number of crates in an area wherethe game recently autosaved. If they were unable to acquire any Heavy Grenades, they can then reload their most recent autosave and try again.
Doing this will cause the items inside the crates to change, improving the player’s chances of finding a Heavy Grenade or two.
