Considering the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S launched at the end of 2020, some fans have been wondering for a while when they’ll be able to take use the enhanced hardware of the next-gen consoles to playApex Legends. According to one leaker on Twitter, Respawn may have just confirmed that not only is a next-genApex Legendsexperience on the way, but it will also be coming sooner than expected.
Twitter user Alpha Intel posted that Respawn had told press the next-gen update for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is coming “very, very shortly.” Not only will the version be coming soon, but fans will be treated to a “bunch of new features” according to Alpha Intel. What these new features will be is currently unknown, however, Respawn has shared that a120 FPS version ofApex Legendsis a priority. Frame rate is often a focus of multiplayer titles, though some enhanced graphics and 4K would be welcome additions for fans too.
With the 12th season ofApex Legendsfast approaching, a next-gen upgrade of the battle royale could be part of the new content being brought in with the latest season. Many are expecting some big changes to be coming toApex Legendsin 2022, such as the possible inclusion of a mobile version of the game. However, at the moment many of the expected changes toApex Legendsexist only as rumors, and time will tell whether they will prove to be true. Nevertheless, it’s a safe bet to assume a next-gen upgrade is coming, along with more maps, legends and cosmetics.
