During the In the Shadow of the Relic quest,Hogwarts Legacyplayers will have a chance to learn Avada Kedavra, which, for obvious reasons, is also known as the killing curse. As any seriousHarry Potterfan should already know, Avada Kedavra is one ofthe wizarding world’s three unforgivable curses; the other two being Imperio (the Imperius curse) and Crucio (the Cruciatus curse).
The process for learning Avada Kedavra inHogwarts Legacyis pretty simple, but deciding whether or not to do so is anything but. After all, using Avada Kedavra is said to be unforgivable, so it’s understandable why some players may be in two minds as to whether learning the curse is the right thing to do. For those who are really struggling with the decision, the following guide should help.

Should You Learn Avada Kedavra in Hogwarts Legacy? (No One Should Know That Curse or Everyone Should Know That Curse?)
Hogwarts Legacydoes not feature a morality system. As such, there are no consequences for learning or even using Avada Kedavra. As is the case in games likeFallout, companion characters will sometimes react negatively when unforgivable curses are used in their company, but this will have no impact whatsoever on the player’s relationship with them. Ultimately, it comes down to player choice. If they have no moral issues withlearning Avada Kedavrathen there’s no reason for them not to do so. If, however, they’d feel more comfortable roleplaying as a more virtuous witch or wizard then they should choose either the “No one should know that curse.” or “Now is not the time.” option when prompted.
Can You Learn Avada Kedavra Later?
Even if they do decide not to learn the killing curse during the In the Shadow of the Relic quest, players can still learn Avada Kedavra later on by speaking with Sebastian in the Undercroft. However, this will only work if playersdecide not to turn Sebastian in during the In the Shadow of Fate quest, so anyone who doesn’t learn the unforgivable curses when they first get a chance should choose the “We must not turn Sebastian in.” option when speaking with Ominis Gaunt if they think that there’s any chance of them changing their mind somewhere further down the line.
