Remnant: From the Ashesmay be getting a sequel at some point in the future, as its developer Gunfire Games has recently filed trademarks for key phrases that indicate a follow-up game could be on the way. Releasing back in 2019,Remnant: From the Ashesis a Souls-like that received praise for its unique setting and approach to the genre.Remnant: From the Ashesreceived positive reviewswhen it released, which has had many fans wondering whether Gunfire Games would capitalize on that success by making a sequel.
Already, a prequel toRemnant: From the Ashesreleased back in 2020, entitledChronos: Before the Ashes. UnlikeRemnant: From the Ashes, which has the player and their friends team up to take down an evil entity known as the Root,Chronos: Before the Ashessees fans enter a mysterious labyrinth to save the player character’s homeland from a great evil. WhileChronos: Before the Ashesreceived mostly middling reviews from critics, that doesn’t mean that Gunfire Games would abandon the franchise, and perhaps rather than a prequel game, the studio has decided to delve further into the fight against the Root.

Now, it seems that there is the possibility of a newRemnanttitle being in the works, as a Reddit user known as LongJonSiIver discovered some interesting trademarks filed by Gunfire Games. One of these is for “Remnant 2,” while another specifically has been filed for “Remnant: From the Ashes 2.“While this may immediately excite fans, it doesn’t necessarily mean that a sequel toRemnant: From the Asheswill be revealed anytime soon.
Gunfire Games filing the trademarks for a possible sequel could indicate a number of things, including the studio simply protecting its IP so that no one can claim the title ofRemnant: From the Ashes 2in a fan-made sequel or anything like that. Still, with the success ofRemnant: From the Ashesand its reputation as a great Souls-like, it’s not out of the question that Gunfire Games may wish to produce a sequel to the title.
2019’s release ofRemnant: From the Ashesisn’t the last gamers saw of the title, and in 2021 a next-gen version was released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Also, someDLC has been released forRemnant: From the Ashes, such as the Swamps of Corsus expansion. While new content has been brought out recently for the Souls-like, fans wanting a sequel might be waiting years still, especially if Gunfire Games has so far only filed the trademarks for it.
