The upcomingStar Trek 4has officially been delayed by Paramount Pictures. Nobody is certain whether the upcomingStar Trekfilm is a continuation of theStar Trek Beyondor if it’s something else entirely.
Despite all of the behind-the-scenes hiccups with the nextStar Trekmovie, it’s at least making some progress. The newStar Trekmovie managed to find its director, but fans will just have to wait a little while before being able to see the film in theaters.

Paramount Pictures has pushedStar Trek 4back to the holiday season with a May 19, 2025, release date. The film had originally been set as a summer blockbuster and was slated to release on July 25, 2025. This date was initially going to see the release of the upcoming filmStar Wars: Rogue Squadron. However, theStar Warsproject was ultimately postponed indefinitely, reportedly due to director Patty Jenkins' busy schedule.
Star TrekandStar Warshave been commonly seen as the two dominant sci-fi drama franchises that have been in a friendly competition. The notion ofStar Trek 4taking the formerStar Warsspot solidifies this friendly rivalry between the two beloved franchises. As of late,Star Warshas been delving into spin-off stories to keep itself afloat. The video games, animated series, anime, live-action television series, and spin-off films have been the main propelling force for theStar Warslore. The fan base has significantly expanded and the best part about it is that fans don’t need to see all of them in order to understand the story.
Star Trekhas been following suit by hopping on the spin-off wave as well. With an animated show and more than one live-action television series, the long-running space drama is doing everything right in order to get more fans attracted to its story.
Fans won’t have to wait long before seeing their favorite Vulcan return though.Assuming the upcomingStar Trek 4features Spock,fans will be able to see their favorite Enterprise crew members return in roughly two years from now.
Star Trek 4is scheduled to be released on July 20, 2025.
