TheStardew Valleycommunity is known for getting the game running on peculiar devices. A while ago, a fan shared a video of themselves playingStardew Valleyon a Game Boy-like device. This time around, DawnOfANewLeaf, a member of theStardew Valleysubreddit, discovered the game in a place they most likely never expected to find it: Walmart. As they approached one of the test computers at Walmart, they noticed thatStardew Valleywas installed on it.

Many of the members of the subreddit found this hilarious and immediately started coming up with background stories for the save files shown in DawnOfANewLeaf’s picture. One of the tabs marked 96 hours oftotal playtime inStardew Valley, and while some commentators mentioned that it could’ve been a kid waiting for their parents, many started speculating that it was the store employees' save file and that perhaps they would take turns and play during their shifts.

Some fans did the math and concluded that some of the save file users had to be usingStardew Valleymoney cheats, as they had unusual sums of money that didn’t add up compared to their total playtime. For example, Sarah had over 99 million gold but was only on the sixth day of fall of their first year. However, other players pointed out that they had come across these save files before in stores and that this was simply a demo version of the game. So, as it turns out, there was no cheating, and the Walmart staff weren’t playingStardew Valleyin their free time; they were simply premade save files for the store demos.
