Starfield’svast galaxy is likely to send players to incredibly hot planets at some point, and that’s when having good Thermal resistance is key to combat the environmental hazard of freakishly high temperatures. Not only that but any live fire is also countered by high Thermal resistance.

Against unbearable heat or flames, some spacesuits come with a bit more bang than others. The top value for Thermal resistance when it comes to regular, run-of-the-mill suits that can be looted or purchased without accessing New Game+, is typically 30 points. This is what players should be looking for with all the environmental resistance values, but it’s rare to find a spacesuit that equally covers everything well. With that, here’s what spacesuits to go for in order to gain maximum Thermal resistance inStarfield—and avoid those pesky burns.

Starborn spacesuitshave not been taken into account in this ranking, as they consistently rank above every other spacesuit.

Honorable Mentions

The list is still a work in progress, so not all good Thermal resistance spacesuits have their own entry. Here they are:

5Gran-Gran’s Spacesuit

Good news for thosewho picked the Kid Stuff trait, as they’ll get one of the nicest options when it comes to Thermal resistance. Gran-Gran’s spacesuit may seem like a bit of a relic, but it’s actually five points above the rest of the options on this list, meaning picking Kid Stuff might be worth it for those who want a solid spacesuit option.

It’s also one of the few spacesuits that has overall good environmental hazard resistance, the lowest being 10 in Airborne resistance, which is better than a lot of other spacesuits. It shares its model with the UC marine spacesuit (pictured here), so it’s easily recognizable by its sleek appearance.

Starfield Ecliptic Spacesuit

4Ecliptic Spacesuit

No one can argue against the Ecliptics being an annoyance without parallel, but they do have a fairly stylish spacesuit. The Ecliptic suit has a chance of dropping from Ecliptic enemies, and while the base stats are nothing to get excited about, it does have really high Thermal resistance and Corrosive resistance, the latter being at 20 points of resistance.

However, in terms of its combat damage resistance stats, the suit leaves a lot to be desired. Still, those who would love to roleplay as an Ecliptic mercenary may yet fall in love with this set regardless.

3Shocktroop Spacesuit

No doubt one of the sleekest-looking spacesuits out therealong with the big three (Trackers, Bounty Hunter, and Mercenary)is the Shocktroop Spacesuit. There’s something special about the combination of black and red that just brings the whole design together.

Most of the vendors will have this suit in their inventory at some point, so keep checking all the major shops in the settled systems (Akila City, New Atlantis, and Neon) regularly to find it.

2Constellation Spacesuit

Once theplayer joins the Constellationduring the main quest, players will earn the full Constellation set. It’s definitely an improvement from the rather plain and overly functional Argos Deep Mining suit, and it does have decent resistance against three environmental hazards (Airborne being at zero, unfortunately).

Its Thermal resistance is where it shines, but it also has a 20-point Corrosive resistance feature. If its Radiation resistance was any higher than 10, this would have been one of the better beginner-friendly suits for pure exploration.

1Ranger Spacesuit

The Ranger Spacesuit shines mainly due to its PHYS damage, but surprisingly, it also has a higher Thermal resistance and 20-point Corrosive resistance. All in all, it’s really not a bad spacesuit to have early on,and since the Freestar Ranger questline is incredibly beginner-friendly, it’s a fantastic reward on top of the Star Eagle vessel.

Plus, it’s one of the more unique-looking spacesuits out there, with a distinct western/cowboy style that players will be familiar with by the time they become a full-blown Ranger of the Freestar Collective.
