Summary
Harley Quinn and Deadshot may have the makings of a rather distinctive relationship inSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. While the two don’t spend a lot of time interacting in the comics, at least not outside of missions with the squad, there’s a fair amount of parallels between the two. With the game having four protagonists, there should be plenty of chances for the game to establish the relationships between the team members. This is especially true with a character as social and enthusiastic as Harley involved.Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguecould have one such relationship clear already.
The fourplayable characters inSuicide Squad: KTJLare made up of notable supervillains from DC’s library. In total, at least at launch, the game features:

Each of these respective villains has their own rich history in the comics, as well as their own stints in the squad from time to time. While Harley is the most famous by far, all of them have respectable followings, making each of their inclusions in the game easy to understand.
RELATED:Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s Batman Will Be Interesting for One Big Reason

There have been a lot ofvideo game appearances for Harley Quinn, butSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguewill be one of the first that gives a real chance to develop her relationships with other characters in a meaningful way, since she’s usually either an antagonist or part of a fighting game’s ensemble cast. Among the rest of the squad, Deadshot is someone that Harley may have a surprising amount in common with. Although Deadshot is fiercely professional while Harley is bombastic and free-spirited, there are more similarities between the two than they likely realize. This could be expanded upon in the game proper.
Harley and Deadshot are two of thebestBatmanvillains to cross into gaming, which is their first connection. Their repeated confrontations with the Caped Crusader alone should give them plenty to bond over. After all, they have repeatedly lost to the same hero, possibly in similar ways, and they may even be able to laugh about these past defeats with each other. Considering that Captain Boomerang almost exclusively fights The Flash, and King Shark is mostly an Aquaman foe, meaning that Harley and Deadshot are the only ones with this sort of connection. This is something that could come into play in their interactions.
Although Deadshot is fiercely professional while Harley is bombastic and free-spirited, there are more similarities between the two than they likely realize.
Although it may be diluted a bit by howSuicide Squad: KTJL’s gunplay-based gameplaygives everybody a set of guns, Harley and Deadshot also share the trait of being unpowered humans who use their natural skills and any weapon they can find to their advantage. Deadshot’s tech and unbelievable marksmanship is his bread and butter, while Harley’s natural gutsiness and acrobatic ability let her pull off impressive feats. Though Captain Boomerang falls into this category as well, his almost exclusive use of boomerangs stands apart from Harley and Deadshot’s more varied approaches to combat. It’s easy to picture the two’s fighting styles blending well in the heat of combat.
A potential friendship between Harley and Deadshot could be useful, as whileSuicide Squad: KTJL’s antagonists will carry the game, the squad needs intriguing personalities and dynamics in their own right. Captain Boomerang and King Shark are plenty of fun in their own right, but Harley and Deadshot may have an unexpectedly great opportunity to strike up some chemistry through their shared traits despite their innumerable differences. WhenSuicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguecomes out, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Harley and Deadshot strike up an unusual friendship.
