Super Mario 3D Worldhas been announced for Nintendo Switch.Super Mario 3D Worldwas previously a Wii U title back in 2013, and will be getting an updated Nintendo Switch port soon. TheSuper Mario 3D WorldNintendo port was confirmed in a surprise Nintendo Direct today that announced new Mario products andSuper Mariotitles coming to Switch.

Super Mario 3D Worldon Wii U has all the fun gameplay of a Mario adventure, with a local multiplayer that allowed up to four players to explore the 3D worlds at one time. Players could control Mario, themost iconic video game character, or could go with Luigi, Peach, Toad or Rosalina, each with their own abilities.

While the Wii U version had local multiplayer, withNintendo Onlinefor the Switch, players can play multiplayer with people all over the world. Nintendo has quickly confirmed thatSuper Mario 3D Worldon Switch will have online multiplayer with up to four players. Players will need their own Nintendo Switch, a copy of the game, and the Nintendo Online subscription to play online multiplayer. Players will also need their own form of online communication, as there is no in-game chat available.

Not only willSuper Mario 3D Worldhave online multiplayer for the first time, it will also whole additional game section titledBowser’s Fury. Based on the announcement trailer,Bowser’s Furywill launch players into a stormy world where new challenges await. There is still a good amount of time before the release, so more information may come out aboutBowser’s Furyor any other features coming toSuper Mario 3D Worldsuch as new characters or new power-ups. Regardless if there are any other features, the online multiplayer is enough to get Mario fans extremely excited.

Players will have to wait a few months to get into the four-player action becauseSuper Mario 3D Worldon Switch comes out February 12th, 2021. For players itching to play more Mario with online multiplayer, the newSuper Mario Bros. 35is a battle royale game on Nintendo Switch that places players in the classic 1983 game to survive the longest.Super Mario Bros. 35comes out on October 1st only in the Nintendo Digital Shop and also requires the Nintendo Online subscription to play.
