While many great Wii U games have made their way over to the Nintendo Switch,Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Furyis one of the most anticipated one yet, especially after Nintendo divulged moreinformation about theBowser’s Furygame modea couple of weeks ago. While the upcoming game is a port ofSuper Mario 3D World, it seems to improve many aspects of the original release, especially with the newSuper Mario Odyssey-esqueBowser’s Furymode.
While Nintendo left fans in the dark for some time about what exactlyBowser’s Furyconsisted of, the reveal of new features such as Fury Bowser, Giga Cat Mario, and the addition of Bowser Jr. has many fans excited for the release ofSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Furynext month. Now, as early previews of the game have been distributed, fans can finally see the first few minutes of theBowser’s Furygame mode.

In one preview by YouTuber MonkeyKingHero showing the first five minutes ofBowser’s Fury, viewers can see Mario traverse Lake Lapcat, venturing to different areas such as Scamper Shores, Pounce Bounce Isle, and Fort Flaptrap, while collecting Cat Coins and Cat Shines along the way. The preview showsjust how helpful Bowser Jr. can be,assisting the player in taking out cat-themed enemies and gifting Mario power-ups the player has stored up over time.
Although this gameplay footage offers a longer look at areas previously revealed in screenshots and trailers forSuper Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, it does provide some interesting insights into the new mode. It seems that every dedicated area in Lake Lapcat has its own music track, giving each area a bit more personality. Thenew peculiarly-colored catsfeatured in promotional material forBowser’s Furycan also be seen throughout the preview, sometimes playfully chasing after Mario. It also looks like collecting Cat Shines will be very similar to collecting Moons inSuper Mario Odyssey.
While the new previews forSuper Mario 3D World +Bowser’s Furyare able to show a bit of the highly anticipated game mode, the opening cutscenes and more are unable to be included at the time for the sake of embargo. Regardless, the new gameplay footage has many excited tojump intoBowser’s Furyas soon as possible.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Furyis shaping up to be one of the Switch’s most hefty Wii U ports, adding new features like online play,support for gyro controls,and more. If the game proves to be another success, it will be interesting to see if any more Wii U exclusives end up coming to the Nintendo Switch in the future
