Eridium is a highly valued currency inBorderlands 3. It’s used to purchase things like cosmetics, weapon skins, Anointed weapons — and is the main ammo (currency) of theEridian Fabricator. While it isn’t necessary for completing the game, it opens players up to even more loot and resources, and makes the experience all the more interesting.
Players will likely find themselves farming this material for the unique benefits and fun perks they provide. But to avoid wasting time, it’s important to know the best farming spots and methods — as there’s no shortage of places to explore inBorderlands 3. While these details can potentially alter slightly from patch to patch, here are some of thebest places to farm Eridium inBorderlands 3to get players started.

Updated June 28, 2025 by Stephen LaGioia:Gearbox’s frenzied ARPG has kicked into overdrive with loads of addictive gameplay, rewarding loot, and a slew of DLC content to keep the fun going. Perhaps most notable is the Season Pass 2, whichadds the expansive Designer’s and Director’s Cuts, complete with the all-new BR-style Arms Race and added skill trees.
With a barrage of hefty discounts over various platforms, many first-time players are discovering the epic nature of this zany, alluring looter-shooter. And with so much expansive content and an endless lineup of cool, amusing weapons, Eridium has become more enticing than ever — though it’s not easy to obtain in large amounts. Thus, we felt it was time to revisit and flesh out this list.

About Eridium And Crazy Earl’s Shop
Gone are theBL2days of using Eridium to expand backpack space and ammo capacity.
Other thanchurning out weapons with the Eridium Fabricator, Crazy Earl’s Reroll and vending machines (Sanctuary III) are the main outlets for spending this resource. The former allows players to swap out existing Anointments of various items with another. Most notably, unique cosmetics as well as special, often-potent weapons can be bought from Crazy Earl’s vending machine.

As a side note, there are a small number of slots machines — namely at Moxxi’s bar and throughout Jack’s casino planet in the Moxxi’s Heist DLC — which require Eridium to play.
Players with the Director’s Cut upgrade pack will also want totake advantage of the Mysterious Artifact, which uncovers all invisible Eridium shards and yields a small chance for Badass foes to explode into 12 Eridium.
Additionally,Stone artifactsgrant extra Eridium — as it allows for two melee hits for each pile and each hit provides this resource.
16Black Barrel Cellars
Scour For Eridium Piles
Within the green planet of Eden-6, players can trek to the Hammerlock-owned Blackbarrel Cellars and locate quite a bit of Eridum, specifically, just beyond Aurelia’s location.
There’s a decent chance for a pile of Eridium to appear directly by the fast-travel location within the cobblestone yard at thenorth endof the map shown above, as well as the small northwest pathway sticking out at the very top of the map. This is a good place to utilize the Mysterious Artifact in particular, as some of these piles can be tricky to find.
Players will also want to explore the caverns nearby (Observatory Grotto), where a handful more will likely appear. Keep in mind, that most of these piles exist beyond the cellars themselves, with more residing in the caverns on the north side. Plundering just these northern regions of this zone can yield over150 Eridium.
15Cartel Mansion
Revenge Of The Cartels
This one is unique in that players will need to dive into anevent known as Revenge of the Cartels, in which Vault Hunters must help Maurice get out of trouble with the cartels. Once a seasonal event in the early part of 2020, the missions have since been incorporated into the game permanently.
Players will be tasked with seeking out various operatives first, in order to get access to the cartel hideout, residing onVilla Ultraviolet. Upon approaching the entrance, gamers must then fend off a slew of guards.
While getting access to the mansion takes some effort, it’s worth tackling for the various loot and ample piles of Eridium. A plethora of great loot along with various Eridium dust piles can be found throughout the mansion. Being an Eridium cartel stronghold, this naturally means that quite a bit of the precious material will be available here.
14Floating Tomb
Graveward
While going on scavenger hunts for piles of Eridium can work, these can be tricky to find and aren’t too convenient unless they’re abundant — and reside near spawn points. However, certain bosses and mini-bosses can prove useful for farming this coveted resource — and Graveward (end of theFloating Tomb on Eden-6) is one of the best to opt for.
For one, he is rather easy to take down, given his large critical zones and the Eridium crystals formed around the loot chests nearby. He is also a rare boss who doesn’t spend any time impervious to damage, allowing for a relatively quick run. Plus, it’s fairly easy to refresh one’s session and relocate a respawned Graveward once he’s defeated.
13Crater’s Edge
The Ruiner
One of the many memorable locales inBounty of Bloodis the setting of the intense final showdown against Rose and the Ruiner; atGehenna’sCrater’s Edge.In it, a respawnable boss fittingly known asRuinerlurks.
This final boss battle isn’t easy to power through, though it does yield a bounty of riches, including a whopping50 Eridiumeach time the beast is slain. Other traits that make this an optimal farming spot are the ability to respawn quite close to the arena that houses Ruiner, and to gather ammo via a handy vendor nearby. Of course, there’s a good chance to find other Eridium in this area too, given the various chests and other potent creatures within it.
12Carnivora
Pain And Terror
One of thebest Eridium farming spotsin the middle ofBL3’s campaign can be found in Carnivora. This isn’t a reference to the vehicular monstrosity that tangles with the Vault Hunter to a cheering crowd, but in fact, aPandorianlocale that offers loads of great loot. Appropriately, this region resides next to an Eridium refinery, and can produce roughly25 Eridiumfor each run.
What’s nifty in this case is that this resource can be obtained more simply by way of scattered Eridium Crystals, rather than having to go through the hassle of clashing with tough foes. There are also large chests within the region that offer plenty of solid blue, purple, and orange goodies.
11Voracious Canopy Vault
Jabbermagwai
The Voracious Canopy Vault onEden-6is a fantastic place to farm Eridium early on. This location houses a giant cave with many crystals at the bottom. A thorough harvesting session should yield about20 Eridium crystalsper run.
For players looking for something more interesting to do, there is also theJabbermogwai. This is yet another Legendary Hunt creature that also drops about a dozen or so Eridium upon death. Another perk is that if the Jabbermogwai touches the nearby water it duplicates itself and all duplicates will drop some Eridium. As a result, this location has both combat and crystal harvesting options for players.
10Jakobs Manor Swamps
Explore In A Vehicle To Find Eridium Crystal Piles
Jakobs Manor Swamps onEden-6is littered with Eridium crystals. The player will, of course, need theEridian Resonatorto harvest these crystals which comes later in the game. But once in their possession, this can be a relaxing place to get some Eridium.
The downside to this place is that it will be spread out over a wide area. It’s recommended to hop behind the wheel of a car and drive around looking for it.
9The Droughts
Eridium Crystals Abound
The Droughts on Pandora is another great spot to find Eridium crystals. Like Jakob’s Manor Swamps, they’re spread out so having a car makes it more manageable.
The difference with this spot is that players can also farm theLavender Crawly. The Lavender Crawly is one of the creatures in Sir Hammerlock’s Legendary Hunts. This unique Varkid upon death will drop about12 Eridium crystalsfor the player to scoop up.
8The Holy Distillery
Chupacabratch
Just outside the Holy Distillery onAthenasis another of Hammerlock’s creatures. This time it’s theChupacabratchlocated inside a small arena of sorts south of the Holy Distillery. Like many of Hammerlock’s other creatures, the Chupacabratch drops Eridium. It will also drop the legendary Chupa’s Organ grenade mod, Nagata grenade mod, and Hornet pistol.
Aside from the Chupacabratch, there’s not much Eridium to speak of here. There are some crystals out in the wild — but not in high concentrations as compared to some other areas. Players should note the Chupacabratch’s tricky Lifesteal ability when hunting the creature.
The Manvark
Konrad’s Hold on Pandora can be a helpful farming spot early in the game. The location itself doesn’t host many crystals, but it does have theManvark—A respawning mini-boss that drops Eridium.
It’s located specifically in theLast-Stand Yardand is basically a Badass Varkid-Tinkwark hybrid. This powerful boss also has the benefit of dropping the Try-Bolt rifle and Flakker shotgun which can be helpful outside of Eridium farming.
