Summary
It’s the most prestigious superhero team inThe Boysuniverse. The team wherebeing a member is known as “the biggest gig there is”. For anyone who is a supe inThe Boysuniverse, this team built by Vought International would be the ultimate goal as a professional hero. At least, until it becomes clear how dysfunctional and disillusioning life becomes when being one of Earth’s Most Mighty.
A parody of DC’s Justice League,The Sevenhas had many different lineups, with members' betrayal and death being a common occurrence. Here are five ofthe best lineups in The Seven’s history, ranked from worst to best.

5Before The Story Started
The Founding Members
This is the original lineup of The Seven, save for a few changes. Homelander - the strongest of them all with laser vision and super strength. Queen Maeve - an Amazonian-esque warrior. Black Noir - the silent assassin. The Deep - Lord of the Seven Seas. Translucent - the invisible man. Lamplighter - the pyrokinetic. Mister Marathon - the team’s resident speedster. This is the lineup that fans of the show know the least about, other than mentions of them in passing through exposition or out-of-series reading material.
Though this was the original lineup, it was not the only one that existed pre-Season 1. A-Train, one of the main characters ofThe Boysreplaced Mister Marathon at an unspecified time before the series began. It was mentioned that anyone who is a speedster inThe Boys’ world, and who happens to be good enough to make it into The Seven, will have to stay at the top of their game. If they lose their position as the world’s fastest hero, they will be replaced, as Mister Marathon was with A-Train, and as A-Train nearly was with Shockwave in Season 1.

This is the team that will get the least amount of fans excited as a result of its relative obscurity for not being featured in the show’s main timeline. Other than a few key events, such as Lamplighter’s burning of Grace Mallory’s grandchildren, not much can be said or found out about this iteration of the team.
4Season 3
A Hectic Season For Supes
This is the version of the team that, throughout the show’s runtime, could be argued as being the weakest. This team features the mainstays such as Homelander, Black Noir, Queen Maeve, A-Train, and The Deep, as well as the righteous Starlight and newcomer Supersonic, an old flame of hers. This version of the team went through the most turmoil compared to the others.
Although A-Train had been reintroduced to the team, his heart was still weak at the time, meaning he rarely ever used his super speed. Despite The Deep being kicked out way earlier in the series for his behavior towards Starlight, he was brought back onto the team in a petty move by Homelander to get back at Starlight. During the Soldier Boy storyline, Homelander kills Black Noir for not telling him the truth about his parentage.

Queen Maeve decided to rebel against Homelander, fighting him and then risking her life by tackling Soldier Boy out of the Seven Tower. Soldier Boy let off a blast that took away her powers and forced her to fake her death. Not to mention that newcomer Supersonic was killed off by Homelander before he even had the chance to show off his abilities.
This version of The Seven went throughthe most twists and turns, losing the most members by the season’s end, and in general, saw the least amount of internal cohesion.

3Season 2
A Vibrant New Member
This team had a similar lineup to the team from the first season, only with the flashy new superhero Stormfront added to the mix. At the start of Season 2, despite being two members down, The Seven were in a strong position, at least in a much stronger position than The Boys, who were fugitives on the run.
The Deep had been kicked out in the previous season, meaning The Seven had losttheir weakest member, and they were soon to bring in a new, much stronger one. Stormfront was a hero with the strength to withstand Homelander’s lasers to the chest and the ability to fly and summon lightning at her fingertips. It wasn’t just Stormfront’s strength that made her a great asset, but the publicity she offered them. Stormfront’s position on the team meant that, for the first time, The Seven had three female members, including her, Starlight, and Queen Maeve.

This team was not all positive, though. Season 2 marked the rapid decline of A-Train’s weakening heart, leading to his being thrown out of the team. Although he was brought back by the end of the season, he was in no better condition. This, as well asthe reveal of Stormfront’s Nazi ties, made this version of The Seven a mixed bag in terms of quality.
2Season 1
The Most Well-Known Team
This is the most recognizable version of the team, the lineup featured in the majority of promotional material for The Seven andThe Boysas a series, and the lineup viewers were introduced to from the eyes of Starlight in the very first episode of the series. With her strength and light-generating powers, Starlight joins the ranks of the powerful Homelander, brave Queen Maeve, the effective Black Noir, an A-Train who was still in the early stages of his heart problems and could still use his super speed, nigh-invulnerable Translucent, and The Deep. Due to this season being the early days ofThe Boys, this team did not experience as many setbacks as other versions did from the meddling of Billy Butcher and his companions.
However, they did receive a major blow with the killing of Translucent, as well as from the loss of one of their weakest members, The Deep, who was kicked out due to sexual misconduct. Aside from quite a few hiccups, this version of The Seven proves to be one of the strongest in the series. This would also be the lineup with the most actionable power, with the threat of other parties not yet being established enough to disrupt their position at the top of the world.

1Season 4
The Latest Team
This lineup had the misfortune of being the team that picked up the pieces from the tumultuous events of Season 3, as mentioned earlier, with the original Black Noir dead, Queen Maeve presumed dead, and Starlight having defected to The Boys. However, as Season 4 kicked into gear, so did this team.
Black Noir was quietly replaced by a powerful Godolkin University graduate who can fly. After being given a new heart at the end of Season 3, A-Train is finally able to run at his fullest capacity again, making him the fastest and strongest he has been since Season 1. The team’s new members boosted The Seven’s abilities too.Sister Sage’s exceptional intelligencehelped them to formulate plans throughout the season that allowed them to seize power, while Firecracker’s connection to Starlight and ability to dig up the dirt from her past allowed them to demoralize their main opponents.
What makes this lineup of The Seven the best is that they ended the season on a high note. They won.By the Season 4 finale, Homelander has the support of the President of the United States and has enacted martial law, gaining the ability to build an army of superpowered individuals to use at his pleasue. Despite having fewer members than all the other lineups, this version ended up in the strongest position The Seven has been in throughout the series. Even with Firecracker’s declining health and A-Train flipping to the other side, they ended on a major high note, all thanks to the addition of Sister Sage.
