This quest that Ellie is on, its toxic nature eats away at her, as seen by the weight she has lost, how short her hair is, and her unwavering dedication to finding Abby, as if that will do anything to stop the nightmares of what happened to Joel. The Santa Barbara is not the most flattering look from Ellie, but it’s certainly a great reminder of her journey.
Seeing Ellie from the start of the game in Jackson, all the way to Santa Barbarashows a woman of sheer will, consumed by vengeance. Using this skin in a New Game Plus run ofThe Last of Us Part 2Remasteredis a great way to make her journey go full circle.
5Badlands
How To Get: Complete A No Return Encounter With All Melee Kills
Abby goes full Mad Maxwith the Badlands outfit, which features a more traditional post-apocalyptic look. Abby looks like Furiosa, with the leather shoulder pauldron and straps around her arm and torso. Makeup adorns her face like warpaint, and her hair is cut short like a warrior ready for battle.
A nice little touch on Abby’s outfit is the Firefly logo on her pauldron, showing that despite the potential extinction of this group, she will never stop looking for the light. She doesn’t look like she belongs inThe Last of Us Part 2, which is what makes this outfit work; a woman from a wasteland.
4Bomber Abby
How To Get: Upgrade 3 Melee Weapons In A No Return Run
Unlocking this skin lets Abby showcase her love for the Washington Liberation Front. This leather bomber jacket shows the W.L.F. badge, as well as a cool pair of sunglasses. This isa more vicious look for Abbyand shows a different direction for the character. Perhaps this Abby would be more loyal to the cause and protection of Seattle from the Scars if she never found Lev, but it’s still a cool outfit.
Whilst not the most unique of her outfits, it shows that even in the post-apocalypse, style remains a high priority. The sunglasses really make the outfit stand out and give a cool charm to put the entire outfit together. The decals on the suit even add more personality to the jacket.
3Eighties
Abby goes full goth with this outfit forThe Last of Us Part 2Remastered. It’s a great look for the character, with leather pants and a leather jacket, but unfortunately not a leather golf club to go along with it. The Eighties look is a stark contrast to Abby, who is usually seen in tank tops and tight-fitted shirts to show off her biceps. Now, with this outfit, shebrings some style back into the post-apocalypseas a new trendsetter.
Abby has plenty of jewelry on with this outfit, but luckily the sounds of necklaces and earrings will not attract Clickers. It’s a cool cosmetic choice to have, and Abby bringing back the 80s is a neat choice forThe Last of Us Part 2Remastered. Although Ellie still wants to kill her, so there’s that.
2Astronaut
In one of the more wholesome chapters ofThe Last of Us Part 2, Ellie imagines herself as an astronaut thanks to a birthday present from Joel. In this scene, Ellie forgets for a moment the world she is in, and in her imagination, she leaves it for a quest through the stars. It’s a wonderful scene, but Ellie is quickly brought back to the harsh realities of Earth. Yet, her dream doesn’t have to die here, asThe Last of Us Part 2Remasteredgives players her astronaut suit as a cosmetic to wear in-game.
The Astronaut suit for Ellie is a fun outfit to use, but even with the helmet and the thick layers, she can still be shot and bit. It gives a unique new look to the game itself as if Ellie was an astronaut who landed back on Earth only todiscover the horrors of the Cordycepsand humanity turning on each other.
1Savage Starlight
How To Get: Collect Every Gun In One No Return Run As Ellie
Ellie’s favorite comic series, Savage Starlight, receives new life with this outfit that Ellie can wear. It looks great and feels likeEllie’s taking her time in the post-apocalypseto cosplay as her favorite character. It’s fun seeing this outfit, and adds a weird sci-fi appeal to the game, with Ellie wearing a spacesuit from a fictional series… within a fictional series.
The Savage Starlight outfit is quite the challenge to unlock, but it is definitely worth it to those players who want to see Ellie embrace her nerd side as she fights hordes of infected and humans alike. It’s just a shame she can’t bring along a ray gun for this bout.
