To make the most of them, however, diligent players must find all the Training Manuals inThe Last of Us 2in order to access the different skill branches where they can spend their supplements.
As each Manual gives you new unlockable powers that correspond to Crafting, Stealth, and Combat abilities, all must be collected to obtain every player upgrade. This guide will show youwhere to find all Training Manuals inThe Last of Us 2to help you level up your abilities and unlock the “Survival Expert” trophy.
Crafting Training Manual Location
Seattle Day 1 – Downtown
Those who have pre-orderedThe Last of Us 2on PS4 or PS5 will have the option to enable their pre-order bonuses on the startup menu; one of these bonuses is early access to the Crafting Training Manual, andit will therefore not need to be found in-game.
For everyone else, the Crafting Training Manual is found a few hours into the game, when Ellie and Dina arrive in Seattle on horseback. During the semi-open world segment whereThe Last of Us 2’s deuteragonistsexplore the dilapidated Downtown area, you may find this Training Manual inone of two locations.
The first is on an elevated platform directly beneath the destroyed overpass. To reach it, ride up the hill and onto the exit ramp. There, dismount and jump overa FEDRA truckonto the overpass and approach the fire engine. Take the red hose from the truck and throw it off the edge. Rappel down and swing onto the collapsed road,grabbing the Crafting Training Manual from inside the overturned truck.
Alternatively, while exploring the Courthouse in the search for gasoline, clear out the Infected on the upper floor and proceed down. At the end of the darkened hallway, break the window on the left and climb inside to findthe Crafting Training Manualon a shelf in the office.
Stealth Training Manual Location
If you have pre-orderedThe Last of Us Part 2orThe Last of Us Part 2: Remasteredand enabled their pre-order bonuses in the startup menu, you won’t find the Crafting Training Manual in either of the aforementioned locations. Instead, you can find the Stealth Training Manual upon reaching the Serevena Hotel. This potential spawn is on the second floor, in the single bedroom on the left,atop a desk below a mirror.
Seattle Day 1 – Capitol Hill
If you don’t have a pre-order bonus enabled forThe Last of Us Part 2, the Stealth Training Manual can instead be found in Capitol Hill, afterEllie and Dinaescape the WLF at Eastbrook Elementary and begin making their way towards the TV Station to find Leah.
The Stealth Training Manual can be found in a bookstore and cafe in the village of Capitol Hill. After progressing far enough, you will start to encounter WLF patrols and Infected. One such patrol is found outside a gas station. Deal with it and find the bookstore across the street.The Stealth Training Manual is on a counter in the back, next to a typewriter.
Precision Training Manual Location
Seattle Day 2 – Hillcrest
On Ellie’s second day in Seattle, she will venture out to the neighborhood of Hillcrest in an attempt to track down Tommy. After some exploring, you will encounter WLF dogs for the first time and solve a short puzzle with a dumpster on some ramps. After dropping down into the back of a bike repair store, exit out onto the street and vault the window into the Goldstar Liquor store.
In the back of the store, drop down into the dark basement and fight or sneak past the twolumbering Shamblers. Then, crawl out of the basement and head upstairs into the daycare.The Precision Training Manual is by the desk, on the floor next to a dead Clicker.
Explosives Training Manual Location
Seattle Day 2 – The Seraphites
On your way to finding Nora at the hospital following the Finding Strings flashback, you’ll cut through a FEDRA checkpoint and return to the street. Heading further down Route 5, passing under a skyway, take a left and enter an apartment complex through a broken basement window.
On the second floor, enter the apartment on the right and interact withthe Workbench by the kitchen. This will trigger a fight with some WLF deserters; kill them and enter the bedroom where they were hiding –the Explosives Training Manual is on the bed.

Stealth Training Manual Location (Abby)
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – On Foot
During Abby’s On Foot chapter on Seattle Day 1, she, Mel, and Manny will find themselves in a boat repair shop after repelling in from the roof. When the crank for the shutter breaks, boost Mel up to the second floor and head upstairs. Taking the ladder from the balcony, use it as a bridge to reach the sailboat in the middle of the garage. Abby’sStealth Training Manualis on a table inside the cabin.
Unstoppable Training Manual Location
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – Hostile Territory
Following the first flashback to the Aquarium, Abby, and Manny will make their way down to street level and hop a fence. Head in the direction of the setting sun, down an alleyway, and toward a fabric shop. Before entering, Abby will waft away a bad smell. Look to the left and enter a building through the broken window.The Unstoppable Training Manual is on a kitchen counter to the rightas you enter, giving players access toAbby’s unique melee combat abilities.
Weapons Training Manual Location
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – The Forest
After the second flashback to the Aquarium on Abby’s first day (yes, there really arethat many flashbacks), you’ll fight through a forest of Stalkers and face off against a thieving Seraphite brute. Entering an auto shop with your fair-weather allies, go through the door on the right, then take another right into an office.Abby’s Weapons Training Manual is on a filing cabinet below a boarded-up window.
Crafting Training Manual Location (Abby)
Seattle Day 1 (Abby) – The Coast
After parting ways withLev and Yara, you’ll eventually worm your way into a beached ferry. Fighting through Infected to reach the sun deck, face the stairs you came up and climb onto the bridge. Abby’s final Training Manual is located inside the safe – the combination of which is90-77-01.
