It’s no secret that Captain Marvel is one of the strongest characters in the entireMCU. Her feats are impressive, and she struggles much more with relationships than she does with her powers. This is especially highlighted inThe Marvels, which shows Captain Marvel’s team with other strong characters, against a potentially even stronger foe. With that in mind, who is the new strongestMCUcharacter inThe Marvels?
The Marvelsnot only features returning powerhouses to the MCU, but it debuts some more incredibly powerful characters, witha few cheeky namedropsthat may test the potential for even stronger characters.The Marvelsneed a tough set of villains and heroes if they are to hold a candle to Captain Marvel’s light.
7Goose
Played by Tango and Nemo
There’s more than meets the eye with Goose, who may seem like just another adorable cat. Goose isn’t just a purring feline, but she is instead a Flerken, a tiny creature capable of great strength, so much so that she is the one responsible for clawing out Nick Fury’s left eye. Goose also has quite the hunger for Kree soldiers, and has eaten them more than a few times.
Flerkens are extremely dangerous due to their adorable resemblance to Earth cats, and the fact that they have an unpredictable animal nature that will see them try to eat anything and anyone, as well as a hatred for not being allowed to do what they want. Either way, Goose isn’t exactly capable of saving the world.
6Dar-Benn
Played by Zawe Ashton
Dar-Benn isn’t exactly the most impressive villain. She does not wield a gauntlet with Infinity Stones, nor is she a literal god sent to conquer Asgard. Dar-Benn is, however, a dedicated and loyal Kree, who wants to see the Kree Empire prosper in the galaxy, and conquer. She has the ability to do so thanks to the Quantum Bands on her wrists, which gives her some amazing powers able to fight Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Monica, in a 3v1.
However, without these bangles, and the Universal Weapon,Dar-Benn just becomes another Kree, and one that can’t exactly hold her own in a fight with someone as powerful as Captain Marvel.
5Valkyrie
Played by Tessa Thompson
As the King of Asgard, Valkyrie makes a brief appearance inThe Marvelsto pick up some Skrull refugees for New Asgard. Although she may only appear in a rather dapper suit, it doesn’t disprove just how strong she is. Audiences have seen Valkyrie fight multiple times, and even stand her own against Thanos’ army, Gorr the God Butcher,and Thanos.
Being of Asgard gives Valkyrie some amazing powers, and considering she was strong enough to be a part of Odin’s elite force of Valkyries, it proves that she is more than capable as a warrior, and even without her immense strength, she knows just how to fight.
4Ms. Marvel
Played by Iman Vellani
As the youngest of the team,Ms. Marvel has great potential. She has already proved herself as an amazing superhero, with the best yet to come. Her light-based powers continue to grow, as do her hands when it’s time to punch stuff. Ms. Marvel is completely dedicated to the hero business, and trying to impress her hero, Captain Marvel. She is such a trusted and youthful hero, that Nick Fury has tasked her with assembling a team of new Avengers of similar age.
Thanks to her cosmic powers and the Quantum Bands, Ms. Marvel is able to stand her own in a fight. Her wits and youth also add to her strength, and as a hero from such a young age, her future may be as bright as her light-based powers.
3Binary
Played by Lashana Lynch
In the mid-credit scene ofThe Marvels, audiences are introduced to Binary, the superhero alter-ego of Maria Rambeau, who found Monica floating in space. With the identity of Binary, it’s proved that this variant of Captain Marvel is as strong as the original, if not stronger, especially with how this wouldn’t be the first time that audiences have seen Maria with the powers of Captain Marvel, and it most likely will not be the last.
Whilst Binary doesn’t commit to any action that audiences can see, her confidence, and the fact that she rescued Monica from floating in the endless nature of space, proves her power.Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnessalso showedhow capable Maria is as Captain Marvel.
2Monica Rambeau
Played by Teyonah Parris
Like mother, like daughter. Monica Rambeau may not have settled on a superhero name that she is satisfied with, but that doesn’t disprove her heroics and her powers. Monica received her powers when involved in a Hex from Wanda Maximoff inthe Westview incident, causing her cells to be rewritten with immense power held within. The story of Monica Rambeau will continue afterThe Marvels, and perhaps her powers will continue to grow.
Monica has incredible light-based powers, and she managed to use them to fix a rift in space-time, but she had to sacrifice herself by closing it from the other side. This heroic sacrifice, and the abilities that she holds to harbor such an impressive feat, prove that she deserves a top spot as one of the strongest characters.
1Captain Marvel
Played by Brie Larson
What better way to prove that this character is the strongest than by flying into a literal Star? Captain Marvel flies into the sun to fix it, directly, with no protection other than her super suit. Captain Marvel has been around for decades, proving to peers, enemies, and the galaxy, just why she is such an important hero in the MCU, even if some of them try and disprove just that. Captain Marvel will always try and save the day.
Captain Marvel has always managed some incredible feats within her inclusions through the MCU, but she manages to further impress inThe Marvelswith just how strong she is, and how the galaxy needs her.
