The Quarryis a cinematic horror experience that uses the best details of Supermassive Games' past titles to continue the trend. However, some achievements that come withThe Quarryare tough to beat due to vague rule sets and conflicting story choices.
One such trophy/achievement is titled “Peanut Butter Butterpops” (named after the in-universe snack brand that Jacob and Nick fight over in Chapter 2), and the description demands the player never miss a shot while in a combat encounter. Due tothe nature ofThe Quarry’s branching narratives, it is inevitable that some players will find unique combat situations that do not appear elsewhere.

Peanut Butter Butterpops Achievement Advice
This trophy/achievement has come under discussion by many players trying out different possibilities, but going through every single chapter to the start with some prior knowledge of the story will help greatly.
For example, trying to keep all ofThe Quarry’s cast aliveisnot necessary for obtaining the PBBP trophy/achievementand can even speed up the playthrough.

It is also possible to improve a playthrough bygoing to the settings and turning on auto aim. While the combat encounters are not usually difficult, it can greatly speed up a playthrough sincemanual saving is not featured inThe Quarry.
Due toThe Quarry’s number of endings, some players may wonder if a PBBP attempt can overlap with other trophies/achievements. In short, any path that results in all counselors being alive or dead cannot be obtained in this route, but getting collectibles such as Tarot Cards can be done.

Finally, some players have reported not needing to do every step and still getting the trophy once the epilogue plays. Despite this, you should follow each step of the guide just in case, since missing a seemingly optional step could result in having to replay from earlier chapters.

Chapter 1 and 2: Setting Up the Encounters
While there are no immediate combat encounters in the first two chapters or prologue, certain objectives need doing in order to successfully unlock combat encounters. Chapter 1 doesn’t require any shooting, butan important decision is still required: BREAK IN to the hut when playing as Abigail and Emma.
Doing so will present an opportunity in Chapter 5 for another disguised combat encounter. In the meantime, the first actual shooting section comes as practice for later events during Chapter 2 when controlling Nick. During the shooting contest, it is important to get hits on all shots fired.

The best way of securing this is to shoot a melon first, after which Nick and the others will get closer to the targets. Next, shoot the same melon, followed by the two bottles on the far left with the same shot, and finally, the last bottle on the left. If done correctly, this will ensure good progress is already made for the upcoming achievement.
Chapter 3 and 4: Shooting Moving Targets
The first combat encounter with a human target appears in Chapter 3 when playing as Ryan after he rushes off to find Nick. Be sure to choose the two shortcuts in order to reach the encounter in time, which consists ofa big hunter guy dragging Nick away.
To trigger the combat encounter, Ryan needs to interrupt the action by SHOUTING at the big guy, after which a window of opportunity allows Ryan to fire. Make sure the shotgun light is squarely on the hunter before firing; if the player misses, they will have to replay the chapter again.

The next combat encounter occurs with Ryan again in Chapter 4 when a sound is heard from the bushes. There will be two opportunities to shoot at the bushes, but DO NOT SHOOT the first time, as Ryan will hit nothing. The second chance will come shortly after, but Ryan needs to SHOOT this time.
This encounter relies on Ryan actually hitting the target emerging behind the bushes (which turns out to be Jacob). If auto aim is not turned on, it is recommended to wait a few seconds until movement is visible just to ensure a kill shot.

As mentioned above, some players have achieved the trophy despite not shooting Jacob or even shooting both times, but this guide method dictates the only guaranteed way to get this achievement without risk.
A cutscene should follow, revealing Jacob’s body shortly afterward to indicate the combat encounter was successful.

Chapter 5 and 6: Defending the Counselors
Kaitlyn andRyan will be up for more combat encounters, the first of which is possible by failing a Quick-Time Event (QTE) sequence. When Kaitlyn goes to investigate sounds coming from the upper floor, she will get pursued by the big hunter guy from earlier.
To trigger the necessary encounter, Kaitlyn needs to succeed with the first QTE (tap right on the toggles) but then fail the second and third QTEs. This will cause Kaitlyn to aim her shotgun while the hunter guy lifts a table. Simply fire the gun at the table, and the encounter is complete.

Also in Chapter 5, now with Ryan being playable, an optional encounter is presented thanks to the choice from Chapter 1. Once he and Dylan are in the Radio Hut,some monsters lurking in Hackett’s Quarrywill attack.
One monster will land on the hut roof and give Ryan a chance to SHOOT the roof for a brief moment. It is not possible to kill the monster at this point, but firing anyway and hitting the roof will count for the trophy/achievement.
There is only one moment in Chapter 6 that requires a shot to be fired:Nick’s monstrous transformation moment. When playing as Abigail, she has the option to shoot at Nick; it should be obvious that doing so is a necessary part of the achievement. Furthermore, not shooting will also kill Abigail, who needs to be alive and safe for the final shootout.
Chapters 7 and 8: Laura’s Turn to Shoot
Chapter 7 has a long series of cutscenes told in flashback by Laura as seen inThe Quarry’s prologue. Her scenes do not contain any combat encounters outside an optional QTE sequence, but certain decisions need to be made for future playable encounters.
As stated inthe “Above The Law” trophy guide, where Laura and Travis (the Northkill sheriff) work together, Laura needs to examine the prison cell during her playable section. By interacting with the spoon on the window and the loose brick in the wall, a cubbyhole will be accessible later in the chapter.
After several more cutscenes, Laura will eventually be able to explore the police station freely. To access the necessary encounters later on, she needs to obtain a syringe from an upstairs office which is later used to inject Travis.
Failing to grab the syringe results in a missed opportunity, forcing Laura to take Travis' gun to escape. If this happens,Laura and Travis will not end up working togetherin Chapter 9, which can void the PBBP trophy attempt.
Chapter 8, on the other hand, has a contested moment for the trophy/achievement requirements. In one part, Laura and Ryan will come across a monster locked up in a cage. This scene will not have a prompt where the player can shoot using the trigger button, but certain players have stated it was necessary for unlocking the achievement.

Chapter 9: Shooting Monster Chris
The only shooting section in this chapter happens right at the end, but there are two moments beforehand that can impact later combat encounters.
Firstly, Ryan will need to ACCEPT the bite from Laura in order to survive being stabbed. If either Laura or Ryan are killed before Chapter 10, then the final encounter with the White Wolf will not occur.
Secondly,Abigail will need to be alive(with the option of Emma) so that she can investigate the lodge bunker. Here, she can find silver shotgun shells to take with her, which Kaitlyn needs to use for killing the penultimate monster in the final shootout.
As promised, a shooting section will occur when Monster Chris attacks the remaining Hackett family. Eventually, a brief opportunity will happen where Ryan can fire the shotgun at the monster; the distance between the two means Ryan will only need to pull the trigger when prompted.
Provided that all of these steps have been fulfilled, then Laura and Travis will agree to work together. Ryan, Abigail, and Kaitlyn will also be alive, but Dylan, Max, Emma, andJacob can be considered optionalfor the rest of this achievement.
Chapter 10: The Final Showdown
The last two shooting sections happen with Kaitlyn and Laura respectively, yet the buildup is heavily dependent on prior choices. So long as players did not miss in previous combat sections, they should be suitably prepared for the final gaming sections.
When Kaitlyn has explored the lodge long enoughand chosen to PREPARE FOR ATTACK, her next playable section will face off against a werewolf. The first choice Kaitlyn has will be to run or wait; choose to WAIT, and she will have a very short time period to SHOOT the werewolf.
This is where auto-aim can come in handy, but manually aiming to the left and pressing the trigger button is all that is necessary.
After this, Kaitlyn will automatically run away from the monster. TO progress, select BEAM when prompted to shimmy across a beam and smash the command button QTE to get away in time. After this, choose to RUN when the option appears.
RELATED:The Quarry: How To Rewind
Since Abigail (and optionally Emma) is alive, the silver shells can be passed to Kaitlyn as she passes by when given the chance to INVESTIGATE. Finally, she can SHOOT the last remaining monster in the lodge; this comes quickly, so players need to pay attention andtake aim quickly before Kaitlyn gets attacked.
After Kaitlyn kills this werewolf, Laura, Ryan, and Travis will go in search of the final white wolf ready to kill it. Laura will get the chance to shoot it by choosing RAISE GUN when the option appears, and finally opening fire on the monster.
This will be the last combat encounter, and the trophy/achievement should pop during the start of the epilogue. Other optional combat encounters can be unlocked down certain paths, but this route reliably unlocksone ofThe Quarry’s endingswithout much risk.
