The shortGhost Recon: Breakpointvideo opens on a wooded environment. The foreboding quiet of the scene is immediately interrupted by a crackle of electricity and the familiar effects that signal a Terminator’s arrival in the present. The trailer ends with the electric bubble exploding and revealing TheTerminatorLive Event’s release before cutting to black.

Although the trailer is short and provides little concrete information on the gameplay or narrative, avidGhost Reconplayers have experienced previous tie-in events that might provide some insight into what Ubisoft might have in mind for theBreakpointcrossover. InGhost Recon: Wildlands, for example, the developer allowed fans toface off against the fearsome Predator. The Predator utilized all its iconic weapons and tactics against players, and could be fought in both single and multiplayer modes. Considering how this event unfolded, it’s likely that this new live event will follow a similar formula, and pit fans against the T-800 itself in a grueling fight to defeat it.

Despite its rocky and disappointing start,Ghost Recon: Breakpointhas continued to receive updatesand improvements. Creating a live event with a new, challenging enemy shows Ubisoft’s commitment to makingBreakpointa worthy successor to the games that came before it. While some players might enjoy the challenge of facing off against the Terminators, hopefully the developer can also integrate a gameplay element from its previous crossover and satisfy avidTerminatorfans by allowing them to take control of the robots themselves in a PVP matchup.

Ghost Recon: Breakpointis available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
