There are plenty of places to take cover on the maps ofRESEARCH and DESTROY. This bodes well, as it can take a while to study the movement of enemies in the game as the trio prepares to harvest DNA and finish quests along their journey.
9Loathe: 8 Seconds Can Fly By In A Moment
Players have limited time for each turn, with the three scientists getting just eight seconds before the time gauge runs out. After eight seconds, the player can no longer move the scientists or attack with them. People must wait for a while before the time gauge gets replenished. During that time, the scientists are immobilized and cannot protect themselves against incoming attacks.
Ghouls and ghosts can attackany of the scientists between each turn. With just eight seconds per turn to maneuver, it can be hard to spot enemies, cover allies, and collect data on the maps. Though a little challenge here and there can be rewarding, there are times when the time limit inRESEARCH and DESTROYcan feel unnecessarily restrictive.

8Love: Versatile Set Of Weapons
RESEARCH and DESTROYhas anumber of mechanized weaponsthat can deal devastating damage to enemies. The Lazerizer is the most basic weapon that is available from the start of the game. It has a High-Frequency mode and a Max Amplitude mode that can be used to kill ghouls from a safe range.
Some of the more advanced weapons like the Quantum Modifier have the ability to steal health from enemies and restore health to allies. Scientists inRESEARCH and DESTROYwill collect data, DNA, and anything else they can find to decontaminate the world. Players spend countless hours switching between Larry, Gary, and Marie as they discover fresh insights into their enemies. Despite fighting endless battles against ghouls and ghosts, however, the trio hardly speaks to each other.
The enemies in the game have tons of hilarious lines of dialogue that makeRESEARCH and DESTROYa comedic satire of a post-apocalyptic world. Mummies, ghouls, and relics are just a few of the foes that can crack people up with their unique sense of humor. However, the scientists don’t have nearly enough lines of dialogue in the game.

2Love: Missions Are Fun To Fight
The shoot ’em up elements of the game provide a unique method of fighting enemies. Players can equip specific weapons to each of the scientists and switch between them at any time to coordinate attacks. The Higgs Boson Field Generator and the Riftinator look spectacular during fights. Althoughthe game has a Co-op modethat lets up to 2 people play together either locally or online, it arguably needs a true multiplayer mode to bring out the full potential of the many fantastic guns available throughout the game.
