Though Sony has been drip-feeding consumers with information for a while, some of the finer details surrounding the console are still hazy. Most fans want a clear picture before spending $500 dollars on a brand new piece of hardware, so Sony’s PS5 FAQ is a good move. The FAQ covers a ton of information, but one of the first real topics of interest is the PS5’s SSD. The FAQ confirms a lot of details surrounding the SSD, including that thePS5 SSD can’t be expanded at launch, meaning players will have to wait until a later date to upgrade.
The FAQ also goes into greater detail about the PS5’s new 3D Audio feature. The post details how 3D Audio works, how it benefits gameplay, and reaffirms thatPS5’s 3D Audio works with existing headsetsthat plug into either the USB port or the analog port on the DualSense controller. While a full list of compatible headsets isn’t given, the language makes it seem like most headsets with a USB or analog jack will work. The FAQ goes on to cover various specifics surrounding the PS5’s internals, including the GPU, CPU, and RAM.
Fans were able to get a much clearer idea of the PS5’s components through a video Sony released in October, where aPS5 console was fully taken apart. Another major topic the FAQ covers is the DualSense controller and its new features. A wide range of topics are covered from the controller’s microphone functionality to the various differences between the DualShock 4 controller and the new DualSense. Additionally, the new haptic feedback functionality of the DualSense is covered at length, detailing what the controller is capable of.
Notably, players canturn off the DualSense’s haptic feedbackshould they find it too distracting during certain experiences. The FAQ covers far more in-depth details relating to the PS5, like the launch titles available on PS5, PS4 backwards compatibility, PS VR, the PS5 UI and UX, and the different entertainment apps available at launch. Players who still have lingering questions about the PS5 should give the full post a read.
