While there are all sorts of units to take into consideration for the tactical nature of the RPG, a high-level squad is able to squash all resistance without breaking a sweat. How to Level Up Fast in Unicorn Overlord
With combat being the main driver of progression in the game, it makes sense thatengaging in as many battles as possibleis the easiest way to help your units level up and get stronger. However, by just following the main story path, it is easy to find yourself too weak to take on some of the game’s tougher battles.
Optional Battles
Thankfully, there are other avenues to help players whip theirvarious squadsinto shape. Before starting a main battle, alwaysexplore the surrounding regions and locate optional battles. These could be for town liberation, or for the recruitment of additional units to add to the army. The non-essential battles are usually short, and with some smart tweaks, are usually simple to overcome, providing a good XP to your units.
Auxiliary Battles/Sigil Trials
However, the best way to gain XP quickly is to play the auxiliary battles, the most effective ones being thevarious Sigil Trialsrepresented by circles of standing stones on the overworld. OnceSelvie has been recruitedin the swamps of theCornia region, these locations can be activated to bring forth the Sigil Trials.
Each Sigil Trial will vary in difficulty, and are usually short battles with different elements to help players clear them quickly. This can range from having siege weapons to defensive watchtowers, which are always going to be useful. To make the leveling up process even quicker, ensure thecharacters that need boosting are in a squad of one or two strong characters, and bulldoze through the stage. This ensures that all the XP gained goes towards powering up these units without too much danger.
Do note that once your unit’s level is four or more higher than the enemy level shown before starting the trial, XP gain will be minimized, so look for the next Sigil Trial that has higher level enemies.
XP Items and Skills
Another benefit of clearing Sigil Trials is that they usuallyaward multiple Treatisesthat grant XP. There are different tiers of the item, and theygrant up to three times more XPif characters are below a certain level threshold. Keep farming the Sigil Trials and use these items at the same time, which will significantly boost your characters in thetactical RPG.
At the same time, be sure tomake use of accessories and Valor Skillsin combat to help. TheRookie Eggaccessory can be obtained early on in the game for a small price or as a reward for completing side quests, and gives a100% boost to XP gain. Alain also possesses theRoyal Order Valor Skill, which doubles the XP gain for one encounter, so ensure you use the skill on a unit that deals the killing blow to gain the most XP.
