A lot of long-timeVampire Survivorsplayers have been waiting for a new character that uses the Clock Lancet as their starting weapon to be introduced. The reason for this is that a weapon without an evolved form is typically given one when it’s designated as the starting weapon for a new character.

One of the new characters introduced intoVampire Survivors, Iguana Gallo Valletto (also just Gallo), uses the Clock Lancet as a starting weapon. That sentence probably should have ended with an exclamation point. This semi-useful weapon was given an evolved form along with Gallo’s introduction into the game, and a very powerful evolved form at that. Unlocking Gallo is a four-step process, with the first step beingunlocking and completing the new stage, Moongolow.

Moongolow

The Moongolow stage is not only fun, but it’s also a great place tocollect large amounts of gold. Every passive item is available as a pick-up item in Moongolow. The player can use this stage to try different builds to see if they work as well as imagined. The first time a player attempts the Moongolow stage they need touse one of the standard charactersin the game.

Using a secret character will prevent the player from advancing beyond Moongolow into the Holy Forbidden (also called Hidden Ground) at the 15-minute mark; so players should avoid picking Exdash, Toastie, Leda, Noob, or Red Death. At minute-14, the screen will begin to warp around the edges. This warping becomes more pronounced over the next minute and by minute-15, the character istransported to the Holy Forbidden.

Holy Forbidden (Hidden Ground)

When the character arrives in the Holy Forbidden, they are immediately stripped of all weapons and passive items, except for their starting weapon. For this reason, it’s wise topick a characterwith ahigh movement speed and a direct-fire weapon. Pugnala fits both of these criteria, but Poppea, Genarro, and Poe also work well.

The character is forced to navigate a winding passage while constantly being attacked by bats and angels. There are light sources along the way that will hopefully drop floor chickens frequently enough to stay alive. This is why a direct-fire weapon, like the Knife, is better for this stage, as an indirect weapon, like the Axe, will force the player to stop at these light sources.

Stopping in the Holy Forbidden is not at all recommended. When the player reaches theend of the passage, there’s a Rosary pick-up itemthe player needs to get. The Rosary defeats the boss of the level. The player next needs to continue to the right and collect the Yellow Sign relic floating in the column of stained-glass windows.

Yellow Sign, Gold Ring, Silver Ring

Collecting the Yellow Sign unlocks the Gold Ring, Silver Ring, Metaglio Left, and Metaglio Rightpassive items. The Gold Ring and Silver Ring are needed toevolve the Clock Lancet into the Infinite Corridor. Once the player evolves the Clock Lancet, they’ll be able to purchase Gallo at the character select screen for 2,000 gold.

Gallo

Gallo receives a -15% Cooldown, +15% Duration, and -50% Greed as passive bonuses. This character also gives the player a +3 to Reroll and Skip. Due to having the Clock Lancet asa starting weapon, Gallo is given a free level at the start of the stage. It is highly suggested that the player picks a weapon with this free level. However, the Clock Lancet becomes one of the most powerful weapons in the game when paired with the Out Of Bounds Arcana.
