The new season will feature actress-producer Eva Longoria; singer-songwriter Noah Cyrus;Euphoriaactor Javon Walton; On My Blockactor Jason Genao; musician, activist, and reality star Amara La Negra; and singers Kyle and Syd. Ahead of its season four premiere, the “not-really-a-cooking-show” was renewed for a fifth season which begins production later this year.
This isn’t the first time Ninja, best known for his vlogs and gaming content, turned the camera onto his cooking skills (or lack thereof). He participated inBon Appétit’s Test Kitchenin 2019 and was roasted for cutting bread and avocados incorrectly. In the video, he was challenged to cook an “egg-in-a-hole” bacon and cheese sandwich while following vocal instructions from a professional chef. Ninja was jokingly called out for slicing the bread from the top of the loaf and cutting straight through the pit of an avocado.
In addition to his popularity in the gaming community—Ninja is the most popular Twitch streamer and often playsFortnite and League of Legends—the Michigan-born gamer has made his way into television and movie projects. He voiced the fictional gamer Slayer in the recently-canceled animated seriesDuncanville, co-created by Amy Poehler. Ninja also made appearances inThe Masked Singer,Nickelodeon’s Unfiltered,Free Guy,andHotel Transylvania: Transformania.
Speaking about his growing career withScreen Rant, Ninja expressed his interest in continuing to make screen appearances. “I just want to continue to do voiceover work for anime or cartoons, pretty much anything.”
He continued to say that he’s passionate about his television appearances and budding acting career.
“I’m prepared for anything. I’ve been onThe Masked Singer, which was probably my most nerve-wracking experience. First off, singing, but also that you really only get one shot at it. That was definitely stepping the most outside my comfort zone in everything that I’ve done. Being on TV shows, doing live interviews, and voice acting, I’m passionate about all this stuff. I’ve been on camera so much of my life, so I don’t think I’m [unprepared]. I still get butterflies, but I think that, surprisingly, it’s prepared me for pretty much everything.”
