A Director Headed in the Right Direction
Tetsuro Araki, ofDeath NoteandGuilty Crownfame, is known for his proficiency in directing fight-scenes, composition, and especially character interactions. Moreover, the way he sets up romance is neither cheesy nor distant - each shot feels natural.
Additionally, his work onAttack on Titanis promising enough for any and all future productions. Also, becauseFFXwas so long ago, a big director like Araki on board, would be a great strategy to garner interest in the installment again.

Visually Realistic, But Still Fantasy
Studio MAPPA is exceptional in its ability to combine CGI and 2D in its productions. It took a more realistic-looking approach when animatingChainsaw Man, but a more artistic one withDororo. Since it’s a versatile studio with an exceptional range in adaptations, combining it with Tetsuro Araki’s creative abilities, could potentially make for averyunique production.
A Memorable Artstyle
For a lot of viewers, theartstyle is everything. If it looks aesthetically pleasing, people will watch it. TheFinal Fantasyfranchise uses this to its advantage with all the pretty boys and the attention to detail it has. We can possibly look to Aki Akane, a musical artist and character designer. Her characters embody a wide-eyed aesthetic depending on the character, but she can also use the “anime-style” to invoke more serious-looking characters. Matching the underlying romance and passionFinal Fantasy Xhas in its narrative, her illustrations would also be excellent to capture any characters in promotional art.
Music That Makes You “Feel”
Yoshihisa Hirano would be perfect for the job. He also hasexperience in composing music forFinal Fantasygames during its PlayStation years. Additionally, while his music started off as light-hearted in nature, he moved on to more serious compositions; one famous example beingDeath Note.
Because of this, it means he can compose both uplifting and intense-sounding melodies.Final Fantasy Xhas an equal amount of these themes. And so composing for an anime adaptation wouldn’t be a challenge for him.

What Is There To Adapt?
As stated previously withNieR Automata Ver1.1a,video game adaptations do indeed have the potential to be successful. And like most installments in any franchise,Final Fantasy Xalso has a novel and CD drama that’s yet to be adapted. Unfortunately, they have not been well received by fans, and some even refuse to acknowledge them as canon. But an anime adaption with proper changes and better writing could serve as a redemption; especially if there is going to be aFinal Fantasy X-3like many are speculating.
