World of Warcraft: Dragonflighthas been a wild ride so far, and its future looks very bright if the new roadmap is anything to go by. It has brought Azeroth back into the limelight as its story is heavily rooted in old-schoolWarcraftlore, and many players feel like it’s one of the most refreshing expansions to date. Blizzard has pulled out much of what made the last couple of expansions controversial, and that has helped rekindle many players' love for this fantastical land. However, the addition of a long-requested playable race does not seem to be part of this new direction.

Not only hasWorld of Warcraft: Dragonflighthelped bring Azeroth back, but it has also brought back many fan-favorite races and characters. Specifically, the very popular Tuskarr from the shores of Northrend have returned to delight players with stories and fishing extravaganzas once again. Players are falling in love with the walrus-like race all over again, and it has made many yearn for Blizzard to finally add them as a playable race.

The Tuskarr Have a Major Presence on Azeroth

The Tuskarr have existed inWorld of WarcraftsinceWrath of the Lich King, and they have been a part of theWarcraftfranchise sinceWarcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. While they have been missing for a little while,Dragonflightputs them back at the center as they are the focus ofThe Azure Span storyline. Players have to assist them with making funeral arrangements for their chieftain while also fighting the infected Gnolls that threaten them. Players will then spend a major part of the endgame grind trying to gather renown with the Iskaara Tuskarr, and that will lead to all sorts of different unlockables.

The Tuskarr are a very kind, nomadic racewho roam the coastlines of Northrend and the Dragon Isles. They spend their days fishing, whaling, cooking, and telling all sorts of stories. They live off the sea, and they are more than willing to share their fishing expertise with players. While they tend to be very peaceful, they will never shy away from a fight if their settlements are in danger. They will also never seek vengeance, but they do have a strong belief that justice must be dolled out to those who have harmed their kin.

The average Tuskarr’s physical appearance is very similar to a walrus, but a more humanoid walrus. Their face is nearly identical to a walrus, and their body is typically small and round. Many of them wear oilskin and fur clothes to protect themselves from the cold climates they tend to live in. While they do not look like much, they can prove very fierce if tested. Players will not have to worry about that though asthe Iskaara Tuskarr are far more interested in fishingthan they are in picking fights with the residents of Azeroth.

The Allied Race Feature Was Built for Races Like the Tuskarr

Many players have been calling for playable Tuskarr ever sinceBlizzard introduced the allied race featureinBattle for Azeroth, and some have been clamoring for them even before that. Popular content creators like Taliesin & Evitel are obsessed with the Tuskarr, and they have made many videos where they mention the need for playable ones. Even more players are experiencing the joys of the Tuskarr again thanks toDragonflight, and it has only renewed the want for playable versions.

The allied race feature seems like the best way to add Tuskarr to the game, and they would serve as the perfect counterpart to the Pandaren. Every allied race that Blizzard has added is either similar to a core race or built on top of the same skeleton, and the Tuskarr look very much like a walrus version of the Pandaren. They could operate asa neutral race like the Pandarenand Dracthyr, and could have a special fishing racial so that players can finally live out their nomadic walrus fisherman dreams.

Players have been helping the Tuskarr for years, and it would only make sense that the race finally signed on withone of the major factions of Azeroth. It seems like the allied race feature was made to introduce a race like this, and Blizzard needs to do it. After all, there is no clear downside to offering more customization options in an MMO.
