In addition to these new gameplay features, the Nightbourne and Dark Iron Dwarfallied races inWorld of Warcraftare getting some new character customization options. Nightbourne are receiving five vibrant new hair colors, as well as gold, green, and violet eye colors, while Dark Iron Dwarf characters will be able to choose from four new hair and skin colors. These new customizations will be available for both masculine and feminine body types.
These new character customization options are not the first onesWorld of Warcrafthas added in recent history.World of WarcraftPatch 10.0.5 added new hair colors for Zandalari Trolls, and Patch 10.0.7 is adding the same for Orcs and Humans, both of which are also getting a new Heritage Armor quest.

Many fans are glad to seeWorld of Warcrafthasn’t forgotten about its allied races. Though these new playable races brought some unique appearances and racial traits, their overall customization options are severely limited compared to the main races, even afterShadowlandsoverhauled the character creation system. These races are in dire need of more options, so even a few hair, skin, and eye colors are welcome additions for Nightbourne and Dark Iron Dwarf players.
That said, many players hopeWorld of Warcraftmakes more drastic changes to character customization soon. Some races, like Orcs and Mag’har, share the same model, but hairstyles, piercings, and other options are locked to one or the other. While races like Blood Elves and Void Elves have slowly started to share their options, plenty of others have these major limitations. Hopefully,World of Warcraftwill be able to keep adding more optionsgradually over time so players can better create their perfect avatars.
In the meantime, it seems likeWorld of Warcraftmay be adding pronoun and voice customization optionsin the near future. This feature would allow a player to select pronouns and voice acting independent of body type–an option found in many modern games that would be a great step towards diversity and inclusion inWorld of Warcraft.
