World of Warcraftis adding some new Scarlet Crusade cosmetics to the Trading Post soon. Models for at least three different items have been discovered from datamining inWorld of Warcraft’sPublic Test Realm, each of which is linked to the new Trading Post feature.
The Scarlet Crusade is an infamous antagonistic group that was most prominent during VanillaWorld of Warcraft. The religious extremists act as a foil to Paladin and Priest characters, representing the worst of what they can become. The Scarlet Monastery itself is one of themost iconic dungeons in all ofWorld of Warcraft.

Now, it seemsWorld of Warcraft fans might be able to collect a few new cosmetics themed after the Scarlet Crusade from the Trading Post. A Scarlet Zealot’s Heater Shield, Cloak, and Cassock have beendatamined from theWoWPatch 10.0.7 PTR. Each of these items has a Trader’s Tender cost, meaning they will likely be added to the Trading Post in the future. Assuming the prices don’t change, players can collect the entire ensemble for 500 Trader’s Tender. The items don’t currently have appearances linked with them yet, but the shield may use an old unused model discovered duringShadowlands.
World of Warcraftplayers can already collect some Scarlet Crusade cosmetics from the Scarlet Monastery dungeons. Whitemane’s iconic hat and Herod’s shoulder armor are two notable examples, but players can also buy special Scarlet Crusade ensembles from the Darkmoon Faire if they collect the Tabard of the Scarlet Crusade from the Scarlet Halls dungeon.
Many players are excited to collect the new Scarlet Crusade cosmetics. The faction quickly became a fan-favorite group of villains when they were first added, and their unique style drew many players who enjoyed their aesthetics. Some roleplayers even make villainous characters from the faction, though some cruel gamers unfortunately use such characters to spread hate and racism–something strictly forbidden byWorld of Warcraft’sSocial Contract.
SomeWorld of Warcraftplayers wonder if these Scarlet Crusade-themed cosmetics might be a clue the faction could be making a comeback. Outside some propaganda inBattle for Azerothand some cameos in theLegionOrder Hall campaigns, the Scarlet Crusade has not done much recently, and many think the religious extremists could play a role ifWoWmakes a villainous Light expansion. However,World of Warcraftrecently said Trading Postcosmetics are often not tied to the story, so these new items don’t prove the Scarlet Crusade is coming back any time soon.
