World of Warcraftintroduced a brand-new user interface inDragonflight, and the customizability of this system is being further expanded in the upcoming Patch 10.0.5. WhileWorld of Warcrafthas famously encouraged addonsfor most of its existence, Blizzard Entertainment still felt the default UI needed a bit of an update. Many fans would argue that the best addition from theDragonflightrework was the ability to display all inventory bags as one large window, taking a functionality provided by essential add-ons such as Bagnon and baking it into the game.
The rework also touched up decades-old graphics on the user interface, and introduced an Edit Mode forWorld of Warcraftplayers to make the UI theirs. While the addition of the Edit Mode was certainly appreciated by the community, many felt that it lacked the options add-ons such as Bartender provided.

It would seem that Blizzard Entertainment heard the community’s plea, as Patch 10.0.5 is introducing further customization options to Edit Mode. Players will now be able to adjust their experience and reputation bars, as well as the micro menu, durability paper doll, and inventory bags. Having an optimized user interface is ideal when preparing to take downraid bosses inWorld of Warcraft, and though Edit Mode still lacks a few options that make it interior to Bartender, this is certainly a step in the right direction.
Namely, the new Edit Mode introduced in Patch 10.0.5 still doesn’t allow players to move the dungeon finder icon, nor does it allow them to resize the experience and reputation bars. Thankfully, Blizzard has confirmed that the UI would be getting extra attention from the developers over the course ofDragonflight, meaning that most of these current shortcomings will eventually be fixed. With an extensiveroadmap announced forWorld of Warcraftin 2023, there will be no shortage of opportunity for the team at Blizzard Entertainment to continue fleshing out the new UI.
WithRaszageth falling to Echo in Mythic Vault of the Incarnates, the first race to World First inDragonflighthas come to an end, and the expansion’s inaugural Mythic season can continue at full speed. While much of Patch 10.0.5 will focus on the Trading Post feature coming toWorld of Warcraft, players won’t have to wait long for new content. The patch that comes after in Spring 2023 will take them on a new journey back to the Forbidden Reach, as well as introduce Orc and Human Heritage Armor sets.
